Its just like the U in the same place. How to recon them?
So far, since 82, AK continuely changing car owing to safety, as yrly I need to travel back
kampong.
Ha ha, my first encouter in the first Poton in Spore was that no spare part available, though
after weeks of custodian. Went to Malacca to get it, side lamp only.
Second ones, first day collection, window couldn't close properly n extra nut was found.
Asked to come back for repair??? Shock to know that the sub-branch foreman couldn't
make it twice. Pushed to C & C to make good. Later, realised that it was an accident new car.

Proton will take the world by storm. They'll be lucky if the US dun invade them for selling inferior cars.
Seriously, I'm just thinking of the strategic value of `the auto sector to a country where its people dun even want to buy their homemade car in the first place. I fear that rescuing any of them will be a start of the protectionistic leanings of the democrats. Sooner or later they will start to complain of unfair trade practices just to keep these companies alive.

Imagine the world without GM, Ford, Crysler, Opel.. (But hardly all 4 go down, sure to 1 to 2 need to survived) One big country like US, if got no auto manufacturer lose face man..
I think the rest of the world automaker will celebrate, even sales drop if can clean out 4 big auto makers means less competitions in the future. Toyota , Hyundai and Nissan must be laughing at them, they should spend some money to lobby the US politician not to lend them money.... |

That is why Obama is the MAN for change. The three auto companies are simply not producing what America or the world wants. This is evident in their declining sales. Bailing them out will only protract the inevitable. I hope companies like GM is not too big to fail.
Honda and Toyota made good gains in US auto market and is unlikely that they will shun made in Asia products except may, ahem....CHINA!
On a lighter note, must look for the local GM office, take a picture and save it for the album..

Yes to re-invent, but they must keep going to do so, the job losses & US status symbol is something no president will go down in history for not saving. Remember all these millions of people will stop spending products now made in Asia. |

They fear the knock on effects it will have on its chain. If I heard correctly the other day, we are looking at possibly 4 million job losses.
I totally agree with your comment on grossly inefficient cars and the loss of market share. I'd rather see the auto industry in US go bust. They need to reinvent. |

IMHO, I think GM stands only a 50-50 chance of getting the bailout. The main problem is that the lawmakers simply cannot see them being competitive in the long term. Their cars are inefficient and even their local home market share has been eroded significantly by Toyota and Honda.
Unlike AIG, GM is not too big to be allowed to fail.
