Look like a hard time for UBS,,,i do not wish the worst.and i dont see it go the way of lehman...i believe SWF will bail it out..

UBS is still better, when you compare UBS with those already gone.

cheongwee,

I know about the AIG a few months ago, I did not talk about it until the AP run an A1.

Causing a run on a bank is a chargeable offense under penal code.....not civil penalty.

Unless you have solid info.....I suggest you tone down a bit.

Take care...

Nice phrase "you've to destroy in order to rebuild", what they are doing is only prolonging the fall.

Artificially hold back will not be beneficial for the long term. Like the way the rule of the game is change overnight like no short selling till Oct.....what happened to the theory of free market or the fall was too much for them???

Well, always listen to the market, be it up or down.....

WOW! what a huge 'bail out' by the Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. The question is whether he can save the World Financial System from destruction? Well, it is still early days and let's see the events unfolding .................

I still believe that you've to destroy in order to rebuild! Cheers!

PS. my bad from my last post - the word ' brows' should be 'blows'.

Haha...No hand dinner.......hands too busy and can't be shown lah :)

I think in time like this, it is best to keep unconfirmed 'rumours'  away from this forum to avoid 'troubles' - if it brows out of controll, the poster could be in hot soupSmileyCheers!

What cann all CBs do..when the whole world are in panic mode???

If they can solve all problem , then we dont even have all these crises in the first place..

We have crises is because they are out of control..confident is lost..one bailout after another..

Hey diddle diddle

The cat and the fiddle

The Bull jumped over the moon

The Bear laughed to see such fun

The pig with golden lipstick went for a run

And finally found the lost silver spoon

But unfortunately the Sun finally came out and burnt all the funds.

Hey, hearsay next to fail will be Wachovia and Washington Mutual..got a friend study in states said that people are panic there and are withdrawing their $ from bank and institution, this can only make thing worse. causes bank run, Bank already shaky and people take their money, bank got no money how to function?

Actually, thing is simple, many small bank follow big bank to buy CDOs during boom, so now they are following big bank by tightening credit, this is what you think.,right?...u are wrong.

The real reason and the most scary reason is that many bank are holding worhtless CDOs and got no $ to function, not credit crunch reason, but sitting on big losses and waiting for reporting and filing bankruptcy.

What can we do? Keep buying is like commit suicide? The best is do nothing.

Think again, fed cannot bail everyone. 5  big fish left 2, also shaky..better run..long time sold. If you still havent sell, then good luck to you.DYODD..

The next to fail will be Ford and GM..look like if end of year is hopeless, if come March still down, then the world will go intop a deep deep winter recession.

If this happen, all your favourite stock today will be 3 time cheaper.

People say Asia is now diifferent and decouple from US. Look what happen now!

The US GDP is 25% of the whole world put together. What is China and India???1 trillion versus 9.5 trillion!!!

Can trade but no long ,you do your sum..just share with you, if cause uneasiness, so sorry, not my intention. Good luck.

Still see a high gold px and buying silver as well. DYODD
