AK sorry, the hard copy of BT may not match with the soft copy on line. On line, you click Executive Money menu on the main page left side. Last para will explain. Go now, as on line BT updates you latest news as early as less than 30 mins. Hard copy, you need to wait for the newspaper man to throw it at your door steps. Happy reading.

It makes sense if the system has a cut loss rule at 10%.

The best systems are easy to use and can stand the test of time. Some systems just become "obsolete" because the rules just don't work anymore, for some reason.

I am an absolute newbie in investment. And yes I have been going to the various Previews on Shares, Options, Forex. In fact I was rather attracted at first to T3B based on the ease of use as reported here below by daniel360. I am careful not to jump the gun because every presentation makes it so easy to make money. My motto is always "when it is too good to be true is probably is". Call be a skeptic.

I have have since taken my first step albeit a little tense, buying my first lot "Cosco" @$3.48. Well as you guys know it has dropped more than 10% yesterday. I taking it all in my stride since I have been to not to get emotional. I was very pleased to read on the Cosco forum that the report card came in with excellent result. Here is where I am still wondering what's going to happen when the market opens Friday.

I remember at the T3B preview one of the point the sounds attractive (not necessary convinced) to me was that the system will cut loss at 10% and take profit at 50%; so one is always on top with 40% gain. On reflection, wouldn't I have loss a good catch if I were to follow that wisdom. I just wonder if Cosco is one of the recommended counters in T3B the last couple of weeks?

I am still learning and this forum certainly offers a lot of useful viewpoints and information.

Fine, newbie, nothing to shame. Go to today's BT,  www.businesstimes.com.sg page 33 to digest " Lessons from a trip down memory lane". The narration given by Christopher Tan " Sensible investing in the stock market can yield great profit. Just don't succumb to the prevalent greed and fear" AK read it twice while I was awaiting for my turn to consult the prof at NUH this late morning.

AK subscribed the paper for convenience instead of going on line to save $$.

i  have just attend the preview and this is what i have gathered.

Firstly, his theories and principles are nothing new. If you have read enough books on trading, TA, all of his talk will sound very familiar to you.

The system is online base, nothing to download or install on your computer, that is, you can trade anywhere so long you can find a computer with reliable internet connection.

The chart engine is chartnexus but less all indicators except one which is his proprietory KRA (Keane Risk Assessment).

It is not tied to any trading platform but he recommended Poems Protrader because of its stop loss feature which is required.

Yes, its a black box, in fact a very black one since there is no perimeters (maybe wrong) for you to tweak. For those who has developed their own trading styles and methods, this is not acceptable, even an insult to their intellligence. As someone mentioned, it doesnt teach you to fish.

How to trade with the system? Login in the evening, scan the counters, place buy / sell trade with stop loss (8%) in Protrader and go to sleep. Day time also dont look at it because human emotions will screw up the system (thats what he said). Every evening repeat the above.

Yup, thats about it.

The software is not dynamic unless it link to SGX. Constantly, you need to input new data into the system before market opens, if not the data base deems out of date already, even a day lapse.

My take is this - there's no harm going for courses (especially if it is free! hehehe..)

But ultimately, it is important to develop your own trading strategy and style. Because we all have different characters, risk appetite and financial objectives.
