Tokyo shares down at opening

TOKYO Japanese stock prices fell on Friday, losing ground in early transactions after jittery trade on Wall Street amid concerns about the US economy and rising oil prices. Japan's benchmark Nikkei stock index lost 189.27 points, or 1.24 per cent, to 15,118.51 points on the Tokyo Stock Exchange shortly after opening on Friday for a half-day session. -- AFP |
