Hi August,

I'm forex trader too.  I'm using saxobank.  Only TA purist can play safe in FX.  Not sugested for newbie .. since it's very volatile ..

Just registered with Saxo capital. The trading platform is impressive and FREE. Can trade multiple instruments including FX in there.

Hi all,

You may wanna check out the forex course by Wealth DNA in Singapore. Training is conducted by both a local lecturer Benny Neo, and by Chris Lori, a professional Commodities Trading Advisor from U.S. Drop me an email if you're interested. cwquah@yahoo.co.uk.

I strongly advise getting a solid foundation in TA before touching forex. Some understanding of FA is also required (interest rate news, CPI, PPI in other major economies) are required, otherwise the volatility can kill new players very fast.

In forex we talk about movements in terms of pips (akin to the no. of bids in S'pore stocks). Each pip abt 10USD but it depends on currency pair being traded (EUR/USD, USD/JPY etc).

Saxo Capital is an interesting place to start, as it allows SGD holding rather than USD holding account for trading. With the way USD depreciates I'd not try to hold much of USD anyway.

edit: in forex, u can long or short anytime. bull or bears only exist in the stock markets. forex is forever neutral, even if the stocks market is having recession now. forex will never be in recession. dun believe? try it or check it out urself.
