Its really difficult to get IPO, results out for RH Eneregy & was not allocated any.

Heard from someone, trading using bank will not necessary have a remisier, is that true ? cos i thought all transactions will somehow go thru a remisier acting on behalf of the trading firm.

Forget to mention here, the fee charged for placement share is different from IPO.

DBS charged $2 and OCBC, UOB charged $1 per entry, no matter how many lots you subscribed.

Placement shares normally has 1% charges of the successfully allocated shared + GST. However, sometimes, this rule may differ.

Most securities firms will let their brokers to offer the placement shares to their priority customers, those who had vested a lot with them.

However, as far as I'm aware, DBS Vickers is open to all their customers. Their customers will be notified online or email that shares are available for placement. For this case, allocation and balloting applied if there is over-subscription.

if you are a bigtim customer, you will get an invitation from your broker. Phone call will come. Or you are so buddy with your broker, 'cho-cho' him/her to let you apply.

EastonBay: By right, you cannot do it. But by left, I know of many peoples who are KS and are doing it, using their wife's CDP to apply.

I have not done it before. But if you using a joint saving account with your wife, then you can bend the rules, right?

Its up to own's creativity.

Pinnacle: "For IPO you can use any of the 3 local bank. And you can use your mother's, father's bro's, sis's CDP account to apply for IPO, provided you have enough fund in bank account. "

I'm not too sure if you can do this, i.e usING one bank account to apply for IPO with different CDP account as I have never tried it before.  I doubt you can do it. I remember vaguely you have to click a button to say something like "you are the owner of that CDP account no you have just typed in"

I had applied for RH Energy IPO, think it closes at noon time. Suppose if the monies is not returned to my bank, it means i got allocated rite ?

And may i know how long does it return back the monies if unsuccessful ? Me using OCBC.

dreamer168. You can have EPS with one bank at a time only. Just like your CPF IS.

So if you want to change, you have to cancel your EPS with DBS, then apply with UOB.

Another way is to mantain your EPS with DBS, but you can use UOB "payment service' to pay your shares. But its subjected to monthly payment limit. Print out the form online, fill up your details and mail with the repaid form to increase your monthly payment limit.

Hi Pinnacle. Thanks of the reply.

I have EPS with dbs, can I have EPS with uob as well so that I can make payment for the shares purchase directly from uob instead of dbs if my dbs account does not have enough fund?

Thanks

Nomally is not given, but will have to buy up as allocated by the company that does the IPO to their respective dealers, remisers and Rep, called it as distribution and some placement share will oso allocated to other Securities houses too who has got built up a very good realationship with those company that does the IPO.

IPO normally very difficult to get allocated..even if got it the quantity is very small.Ask your broker to give you placement shares if U have bennn trading long with him..eg RH Energy..I am given 10lots as it is underwritten by CIMB-GK Goh...

oh ya... for every IPO application, DBS charged $2, UOB and OCBC is $1.

Hence, if you apply IPO for both your mother and yourself using DBS, you will have to pay $4 in total.

dreamer168. Your CDP link to DBS actually menas that its the "EPS" link to DBS.

So your dividends and selling of shares will credit to your DBS.

For IPO you can use any of the 3 local bank. And you can use your mother's, father's bro's, sis's CDP account to apply for IPO, provided you have enough fund in bank account.

However, do note that, splitting the number of lots between too many account is not a wise choice, because if you notice, if you HTT using 1 account, you have higher chance for allocation. E.g. apply 100lots has much higher chance to get allocation than applying for 10lots.Smiley
