sell volume and buy volume are only "point" data.... that means at that point in time xxx number of lots are being up for sale and yyy number of lots in demand.
but the number that is ACTUALLY traded is the total volume.

Wat I am looking for is to be able to see ppl queue at different pricing and how many lots. I think for this service need to pay monies and I did not. So I can only see dealed pricing and queueing pricing. Any other kind of pricing I cannot see.
Level 2 (for US market) is provided for free or as a paid service. It is available to retail investors and traders.
For SGX, didn't know there is concept of level 2 at all but the following are available to everyone. If you don't have through your broker it seems you may not have discovered the full use of your trading browser.

iPunter,
Most broker online screens and SGX will show
highest 'Buy' price and volume and
lowest 'Sell' price and vol.
Some online brokers will show all the bids on queue...i.e. 'Buy' and 'Sell' prices and volumes for each price level.
Think this is what you mean?
hi guys...tks for explaining the terms to me...really appreciate it.
I believe there is also the concept of 'levels' which I don't know much about.
I believe this 1st Level/2nd level (?) buy/sell indication is not visible to 'ordinary' players?
Can someone kindly explain?

To make english word simpler in point form.
Buy Vol - Total No. Of Lots (1000 shares) ppl want to buy but not yet bought so it is queued at that column
Sell Vol - Total No. Of Lots (1000 shares) ppl want to sell but not yet sold so it is queued at that column
Total Vol - Total No. Of Successful Lots (1000 shares), i.e total number of lots that is bought and sold successfully between buyer and seller so displayed at that column

hi ncw1975,
besides buy and sell volume, there are also 'x' married deals. there is an article on a blog that looks at this topic. http://thisisbinnie.blogspot.com/2007/02/basics-of-placing-your-singapore-stock.html
From what I understand, "buy vol" refers to the number of shares that buyers are willing to buy at a specfic price while "sell vol" refers to that which sellers are willing to sell at a specific price. "Total vol" refers to the total number of shares traded at various prices on a willing buyer-willing seller basis for the specific period, usually a day. I hope this reply helps.
hi guys...good day to all.im a novice here who needs clarification on co-relations between the 3 vols...e.g if stock ABC has a Bvol of 1000 and Svol of 500 makes me wonder why total vol can be more than 1500...pls enlighten tks!
