When it comes to money,i think i can be pretty astute.

Yes i gave up my spore PP in 1991 in exchange for miserable S$170k of CPF money then. But never regretted my decision.

The supply charged comes in the billing cycle,ie,every 2 months.

hm ok...i think it's a bad habit to borrow money (speaking for the average person and not a down-and-out beggar etc)...unless you're really desperate, or extraordinary circumstances (sudden illness causing large hospital bills etc), it likely means you're not controlling your spending enough. likely using it to fund some gambling habit or whatever. in which case, lenders can be prepared never to get their money back.

Agree with vic etc that once you lend money, be prepared never to get it back. and haha, godpa, i like your strategy! :P

having said that tho; i did lend $$ to a friend once, to pay off uni fees. Did pay it back eventually, so that's good. but yea, i won't be lending out in future anymore. think money ruins relationships.

We do not have IC in australia.

In australia, banks will not pursue debts less than A$10k as courts procedure etc...is too consuming and costly. This is a source from inside the bank though outwardly the banks say they will pursue the debt.

In ur early post about EDMI and $15 charge.Never heard of it in australia.

But there is such a thing called 'supply charge' here.If that is what ur friend is refering to.

Cheers

When an addicted trader loss his coffin money in stock market, he can do anything out desparation - first option is to borrow from parents, then friends. If all fails, he may even rob.

One thing in life is "NEVER BORROW MONEY TO BUY SHARES."

Unless you have 100% certainty that you payment can be made,

like if you have salaries that you 100% always receive it every month.

yes, fully agree with victorian that when you give out a loan, better dont expect them to return. I haep ersonally experience lending some money to a committee member and he requested that I kept it to myself.  He didnt pay me back and after some time,  I found out that he also borrowed from all other committee members and everyone also kept it a secret.  In the end, we all realised that he borrowed from almost all of us... Best part is this chap never feel embarrass or apologetic and in fact act as if he never ever borrow the money.  So lesson learnt is never expect to get back your money......

I agree with victorian. Those whom I loan money to and subsequently "forgot" to pay back cease to be a friend anymore.
