Rapids phase still.
The market is still volatile but the waterfall is not far away.
The good news is;
!.the new moon is on19/1/07 and could lend support to the market in the next few trading days.
2,The S&P did not break 1410 at the close and the next cyclical low is on 22/1/07
3.The collapsing commodity prices especially oil could ease inflation but could warn of economic weakness(45% of S&P stocks are commodity related)
4.Barton's latest stock charts still bullish and point to 3200 for STI( except for thailand
5.Martin Armstrong pi business cycle indicator points to a 4.3 year peak on feb 27/07 followed by a downtrend for 4.3 years. He predicted accurately the 1987 crash the 1990 japan stock crash , the 1997 asian crisis the USA market top around 1999 and the market bottom in mid 2002.
the way, i see it is someone has bulit a dam thus limiting the riverflow and the water behind the dam is fast evaporating. sigh...
Alamat another 4-D to punt this weekend from ipunter..... already loss $2/- on the no. 3000 last week..hahaha.
Ya ....'......like the river flows to the sea, to the sea &&&&&...' enjoy, cheers!
1041... hahaha... it's so true...
The stock market river of hope always end up flowing upward in the human terrain of the world, no matter what fearful obstacles it meets along that journey... :)
Aha ......... Stock Market .... River........interesting?
We all know or perceive what is a river ..... it is a huge 'drain' with flowing water. Right? Not really in actual fact. A river has a source and flows from high ground to lower level and finally ends at the open waters (seas or oceans).
Therefore, when a stock market is like a river, it must be flowing from high to low and behaves like a river that flows thru all the topograpghies - plains, valleys, hills, towns &villages, rapids, cataracts, etc....... . It could be calm at one stage and becomes 'violent' the next ..... but it is quite predictable(that is if you know and understand the topography that it flows thru). Of course, the environments coud also affect its flows (eg winters, tides, rains etc....) which is sometimes hard to predict. No matter at which stage, it is still flowing downward towards the open sea. Therefore, before it reaches the sea you maybe able to chart the flows without the environment-factors quite accurately. Once it reaches into the open sea, it is a different 'story'! Thence, as a Trader, you've to adapt and cease the opportunaties at the various stages of the flows always mindful of the environments that could affect the flows before it ends at the seas or oceans - some flows are short, some are long. If it is the Nile, you'll have a longer time to exploit. Cheers!
River maybe.........sometimes smooth sailing on it.........sometimes so rapid even a life-jacket also cannot save you.........
Then "you can cry a river"
5/1/07-report by Prof.Laurence Kotlikoff(Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis)
US debt is reaching an uncontrollable $US65.9 trillion and the country is bankrupt.
This is an Alice in Wonderland financial system-the river is flooded with paper money and that is the reality we have to contend with-a dreamlike twilight zone.
If the poor sentiment persists the river will be called THE RIVER OF NO RETURN-I hope not.
A far as money is concerned, whether it's waterfall, high tide or flood, it's not too bad...
Too much water is bad, but too much money is good, especially to those who are suffering...
hahaha... Singaporegal...
I didn't know you are not only a good trader, but also such a good poetess... :)
STI 3000 is now a resistance instead of a suppert level.
Calm clear water is a sign of prosperity but a cascading waterfall, floods, or a tsunami can be
be hazardous.
Correction in the stock market is healthy says the business times but not if the tide is turning.
River = water = "Shui" water in Cantonese = Money $$$. A matter of making $$$ or losing $$$.
Agreed that the stock market is akin to a 'river' (...)
Getting into a trade is like jumping into a fast-moving river. The opportunity as well as the danger is in the water. You are safe standing on the bank and can control where and when to jump, but getting out of the water can be more tricky. You may see a spot where you want to get out?a profit target, where you can place a sell order.
You may want to let the river carry you as long as the current allows, protecting your position with a trailing stop.
No way the Stcok Market is like a River unless the River is man-made. Maybe at some points The Stock Market behaves like the flows of the River downstream - it gathers speed and becomes rough as it flows thru cataracts.
If winter is coming to S'pore, then the Bear is still in hibernation - nothiing to worry about isn't it? Hahaha........ Cheers!
So winter is coming to S'pore..better get prepared to buy some winter wears!
On a more serius note tha S&P MACD indicator has turned negative in the last 3 days after showing a spring, summer autumn pattern (progressively lower tops ) since July
What about dry season... all water in river evaporates.
All stock volumes drop. Penny stocks suffer first.
All stock volumes drop. Penny stocks suffer first.
But maybe... only maybe... that's being simplisitic...
I think things are not that straighforward... since in reality, all stocks, blue chips or pennies, rise and fall and rise and fall indefinitely in the trading continuum. So unless all stocks rise and fall in tandem, 'that poem' of yours may not be a good guide of where the market is.
This analogy is very appropriate.
Stream-beginning of bull maket
River-middle stage of bull market-blue chips rise
Flooding of river banks-all boats rise including penny stocks
Rapids-volatility of stocks
Waterfall-all stocks collapse(Niagra(not viagra) effect)
