I just think the impact is not much anymore since market has digest and accept that the "Seow Lang" (Mad person) already test the bomb, so what, no big deal anymore. You test your own bomb and your citizens are so poor. What US and Japan  and all countries in the region is frightened that he may sell them to some crazy dictator or some people who willing to pay. This is the main threat !!!

Yeh, the pictures is well post, I heard this man is also very "Tee Ko" (womanizer) type, recently his kidney got problem and need transplant or medication thus secretly visit China to seek treatment in the begining of  2006 !

A strong earthquake shook northern Japan today and Japanese media reported the government had detected tremors in North Korea as well, leading it to suspect Pyongyang had conducted a second nuclear test. But Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as saying he had no information to confirm a second North Korean test had taken place and U.S. and South Korean monitors said they detected no new seismic activity in North Korea.

Yup, US market not badly affected by North Korean's nuclear test today .... Dow just down 16 points and Nasdaq up 1 point now. US mrket is more concern of the higher oil which hit $60 today. Anyway, it will be a quiet day in US trading as the bond market is closed for Columbus Day hoilday.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il in undated file photo released August 30, 2006 (Reuters)  Pix of the mad dictator here!

After the dust of the furor has settled down,  perhaps this event is very likely  to to spawn a  new international arms race in the longer term. Would markets then benefit from the possible fringe economic activities arising out of this? Just a morsel of thought.
