To Tradesman,

SO how? with Gallen started his own funds, when is yours? I will seriously consider it if Tradesman (you) started one. I am a fan of Tradesman (your) foresight and TA skills.

Dear Gallen,

It is actually the Mgmt Fees that you charge that is taxable. not the capital

thus the advice to legalise it, is for your sake....

Wow... 50 + people!

Can I ask how much $$ per person on average? If its not too confidential?

cashiertan, thanks, but any gains from my fund is capital in nature and not subjected to tax. this is not a trading fund hence no trading gains involved.

Gallen,

Glad to hear that you have started your funds even under such bad times. However, i hope you be careful as actually your fund mgmt activity is illegal even if under pte. this is becoz taxes are involved. i suggest is to legalised it asap.

thanks

yah...  I think cashiertan is right, there should be some MAS regulations on this.

Gallen, I think you should check out before starting. Do not get into unnecessary trouble. Good luck anyway, bro.

confirm he needs to register with the respective dept. also he needs to pay at least hundreds of thousands of deposits as guarantees and tens of thousands of license fees. If it is so easy to be Pte fund manager in SG, you would have seen tons of them..

But anyway, good luck to you gallen on your project, hope you can achieved your dream soon.

Hi gallen,

Do you need MAS clearance for this? Maybe you should check out before you start this fund.

Hi Gallen,

Maybe you could tell us the factors differentiating your proposed fund from those out there?  :)
