A stock of this price can make you smile if it goes up just a bit.... :)
But you can also get whacked heavily if it goes down a bit ... :(
[With a high-priced stock (eg. 1.05), you won't lose so much so quickly.]
So need to be very cautious...
I am vested in this stock. I think it is now at the accumulation rather than distribution, it is a good entry level but is not for contra trade.
Out of the 10,798,000 shares traded today, 8,440,000 shares are traded for 2.5 cents. Is this a sign for Jasper to go back to its high of 3.5 cents or even better?
Can any expert advise on this?
today's buy volumes are even higher 200Million +!! looks like buyers are trying very hard to buy at 1.5cts but most of the trades are still done at 2cts...
I think they expected contra players would sell to them at this negative day. I notice some withdrew the queue order, is it they are avoiding curiosity?
Today the buying queue so many, are they waiting to get from small investors or uob?
Thanks Wadrian, good post
hi victorian,
My guess is that it costs a lot of capital expenditure and time to start exploration and digging. By selling the coal concession which is just a piece of paper, they gain $7 million straight away without a need to do any work?
I feel it would have been better for Jasper to seek out some other partners like Magnus etc. to build the coal mines but I guess selling the concession is a quick profit for the company.

hi all,
here's a follow up on last week's discussion on Jasper being a hidden gem. I have done some research and have come to believe that Jasper is a gem waiting to shoot up.
Here are the facts on Jasper unveiled (note: all available on the public domain):
1) Jasper Investment was formerly Econ Piling and it is now mainly focused on construction and strategic investments.
2) Jasper is in the 2 hottest business now - Construction (via their piling and pre-fab businesses) and Energy ( The own a coal mining concession in Indonesia).
3) The current trading volume is very high and Jasper has been in the top 20 volume for the past few weeks. Prices are stable around 2cts and 2.5cts and volumes continue to be high which denotes a collection going on.
4) according to Jasper's announcement on SGX, they are selling their coal mining concession in Indonesia for S$7million+. This is expected to complete in April (sometime this month). Noting that Jasper's historical profits are around S$1M, this extraordinary gain of S$7M will result in a jump in profits of 700%...... (source: SGX - annoucement by Jasper on 22/1/2007)
5) historical trading prices - Jasper was trading at 3.5cts in January before the market correction. If the share rebound back to 3.5cts (after all the collection is completed), this means an upside of 75%!!!
6) Jasper has been profittable over the last 4 years and with this coal concession sale coming up, the financial outlook seem very positive. Meanwhile, the company is still in th construction sector and with so many projects coming up, Jasper is likely to bag their share of projects.
I hope the above info is useful for those who don't have the time to search on the net.
Cheers.
