Same here. I have already put mental faces on Singaporegal (sweet, simple lady, gentle and kind, wearing round rimmed glasses), Billywow (mischievious kind, smily and playful, the shiok type), Nostradamus (serious, no-nonsence type, like my grandfather), Elf (tricky little girl, darling of all the old men here), Giantlow (easy to imagine, simply BIG), Bunbun (little girl with hair tied up in bun - two buns, one on each side) and Cashier Tan, holding his money bag. And dont forget Teeth53 (I tink tink still cannot imagine).

Cheers.

one of the site owner is actually a polytechnic lecturer, Republic Polytechnic, if I remember correctly. He was featured in the ST just one week back.

Just sidetrack a bit. Don't call me a weirdo or anything. Because SJ is so 'lively' with interesting discuussions going on all the time thatI mentally picture regular contributors in my head, i.e. I put a face on their names based on their styles of contribution. So, when I am reading their posts, I imagine them speaking. Regulars like singaporegal, ipunter, billywow, cashiertan, nostradamus etc. Don't worry, I am NOT obsessed. Just that I like dealing with people more than just cyber-personalities.

I am all for payinI g to join sites that can help me make informed trading decisions. So I registered as a free member to assess. Most parts of the site are still out of reach! I need to know what I am paying for (just like buying stocks).

I suggest that trial membership be given for say 30 days for potential members to assess. This is a free piece of marketing advice I am giving to Shareowl. Going forward I have to charge for it (and I do have other ideas), it's just business.

Hi All...  :)

We are indeed very fortunate to have ShareJunction,
which is available to us all free of charge. This is because the site owner/s did some sacrifices on their part to make this possible.

And, as a matter of gratitude as well as courtesy,  don't you think all of us should also do our  little part  by  clicking  on the advertisements which appear on  either side (left and right)  of the page? That certainly helps a little.

We love ShareJunction, don't we?    ... :)

PS. By the way, I do not know the site owner/s.

It is always good to visit a few forums to get a feel for a stock and the kind of crowd it attracts, as well as various perspectives on the business and management.

Subscription fees, unless exorbitant, should be considered as the costs of your investment, much like brokerage commissions. Some people prefer personal brokers rather than online trading because of the personalised service; others with a fundamental bent might prefer more research perspectives. If I'm not wrong, SC hires some analysts to help him with his stock research for Shareowl, and where would the money come from if not from subscription fees?

IMHO, anything good is worth paying for...

Just consider the value of what you're paying for... :)

shareowl give you lot more confident to invest in quality stock and the guidance from Prof  is more than the money paid, there is no where where you pay this tiny amount to make BIG money, even investing in Fund you continously pay fees and management charges...The amount of work put in by SC got my salute, For newbie, you can't find anyone that can answer you question like he does. and remember we are investing huge amount of money each time and for 2 years we only pay pitance of $ 198. I have yet to buy benefit of buying and recomended counters but SC has help me more by giving me the vonfident to hold on to my counter like JARDINE C&C for i would have SOLD it off much earlier.....
