tonylim, a dividend guidance of at least 1.0c was made, payable in Feb. This is a good time to buy in. Cheers.

Pengana partnering with SI vs ST Asset Mgmt. It's going to be very "happening" at the SGM on 25 Nov.

There is a Special General Meeting to be held on 25 Nov.  Anyone vested here has any comment on the agenda?

Very good dividend yield and many bought at $1/= .  Buy and accumulate this stock.  It has undergone some restructuring and is poised to move forward

that is something new to me...

this is an Australian company, isn't it? any more story about this company? the price is cheap though..

look at synear, sinotech, all the 14 cents stock all up to 20 cents now.., (although the business nature are way different), but we are talking about the cycle.. to up to 15 cents is just as easy as flipping hands.. but, worth a bet?

Thank you for the clarification! :)

sureesh40      ( Date: 05-Jun-2009 11:37) Posted:

no of you bought it on CD date you should get full div of 2cents per share

sustagen      ( Date: 05-Jun-2009 10:24) Posted:

So that would mean if i have bought the stock 2 days ago, the dividend is only at 0.6c right?

Please note XD is 1 July.

The 2.0c div comprises 1.4c for income earned 2H08 and 0.6c for 1H09.

Forecast for 2H09 div is 'closer in magnitude to economic income earned in the period 1 Jan 09 to 30 Jun 09'.......what a round about way to say it. Can;t they just say ' similiar to 1H09'? i.e. approx 0.6c.

Now that they have achieved debt free status, they should very well be able to churn out nice chunks of dividends for us permenently. I am even happier if they retain some earnings to reinvest to grow her assets and dividend payout

The info is in the presentation powepoint issued today for the AGM. It is in the BBGI website.

As for cash economic income, 2H2008 dividend was cancelled and used to pare down the corporate debt. I am impressed that they do not have debts.

This means the income stream (from their investments) can be used to start paying dividends again. Study their past financial statements.

They do not have employees (now they will have a few since B&B is disengaged). They do not have offices nor much overheads. The directors fees are modest. So, what else are their expenses other than audit fees and the consultancy fees?

It is in their prospectus that most of the cash economic income is paid out to investors. That has been the basis of this stock. It is an investment stock. It is not a business that produces or offers a service. It is purely an investment business.

They just announce the result strategic review which I thought will be complicated and tedious but its so simple. Although I like it because its easy to understand, but it make me wonder how much are they paying Standard Charter for this result?

Its good that they hold back dividends to pay debt in such a time. This is part of debt management, if they are forced to sell assets, they would not have any assets left and hence no more income in the future.

Well, Mr. JakeJames, you got your wish. They are holding the cash. Now too bad for me. Anyways, no dividend to support the price at 3 cents. Guess I'll accumulate more at one cent.
