Hello ten4one

Thanks for the learned response.   SC has been in a seesaw mood (18 cts to 385 cts for the past seven years.  During that period the USD was $1.64.  Hope SC can different as from 2007 onwards with the USD holding at about $1.53

Hihikitty, Let me share my tot with you. SC is in the Tourist and Leissure business which could only perform well when the economy is doing well. Of course not forgetting the Bull Market  - the more cash people earned, the more they are willing to spend. I'm sure you know our economy was doing in the past few years. It only started to get a little well in 2006 and is heading for better days. All my targets were set quite near so that it is easier to hit. If the Market conditions changed, I'll do a re^iew whether to ride or go for other targets. My concern is the diff in exchange between Buy & Sell. I think that is also the reason why Funds are so cautious. Cheers!

Hello ten4one How can any investor be adventurous when this SC has not been profitable every year? Uptrend has never been sustained, rather it is like a "flash" in the pan. How to be adventurous when the odds are stacked against most investors? What is the new TP - want to venture a guess?

If you're more adventurous and prepare to take a longer stand, you could reap good returns. Don't think can sink any further within this 1-2 year. Cheers!

Appears to be just a technical rebound today. The fundamentals of SC (or nothing) have not changed.  May "collapse" again tomorrow (usual trend)?  Upward trend reversal will take ages! Some investors may not be "around" to see it turn around significantly.

Hi S'gal, this Cruiser could survive simply because the Owners have deep pockets and could also generate reasonable cash flows to fund the operations and most importantly, the business is still viable.

The Ship surely takes a longer time to turn around in rough waters. It is now in calmer waters and heading towards better environments (the F1 and IRs etc..). My only concern is int rates hike and the USD position. Cheers!

Hi iPunterSupreme

Yes, it's a good sign that at the rate it is moving north (after the short uptrend in January 2007), it will take a long long time (guess it will really take five years) for any meaningful upward trend reversal.  It has been trading sideways between 0.275 and 0.28 for a few months   Unless a miracle happens anytime soon (e.g. crude oil price dipping below US$60 and more profitable routes), it will not rally upwards within this year.

Star cruises has been losing money for a long time. I really wonder how they can survive so long.

Hi iPunterSupreme

At the rate it is moving after the short uptrend in January 2007, it will definitely take a long long time for a meaningful trend reversal.  Five years for a trend reversal if I am not wrong, believe me.

Hello Hikitty...

Isn't it a good sign that it rose to 0.29?... :)

Sigh - resigned to the feeling that the trend reversal for SC will indeed need five years based on its recent seesaw movements (i.e. when its Macau investment bears fruit) Closed at a mere 29 cents today with low total volume.
