Tiger Woods latest girlfriend not Jessica Simpson, it's 'a lie' says the star

  • December 16th, 2009 8:20 pm ET
jessica simpson and tiger woods latest girlfriend
The photo above, taken in August at the pro-am AT&T golf tourn-
ament, shows Jessica Simpson, Tiger Woods and Tony Romo - A
picture most likely manipulated on the cover of Star mag. AP

As if it wasn't enough to see Tiger fall from grace, Star magazine has said Tiger Woods' latest girlfriend is singer Jessica Simpson.

The singer hit her Twitter about the mag's cover, saying: "The Shocking Story" is (insert drumroll) A LIE!"

The mag has Jessica Simpson and Tiger Woods posing together in a much-obvious press picture since Simpson was on-site at the event (the pro-am AT&T National golf tournament) in August singing the National Anthem.

The pic on the cover of Star could very well have Jessica's ex-boyfriend Tony Romo cropped out. See the photo above and the rest of the photos on Huffington Post's website here.

Genting Singapore: Sale of UK operations

Summary: Genting Singapore (GS) is selling Genting UK (GUK) to Genting Malaysia (GM), after shareholders of GM voted in favour of the deal this week; GS’s own shareholders have earlier given their nod to the sale last week. With the divestment, we are reducing our FY10 sales estimate by 7.8% (assuming minimal GUK’s contributions in 2H10), and our core net profit estimate by 3.8% (revenue loss mitigated by further margin improvement). Similarly, we reduce our FY11 estimate for revenue by 9.1% but raise core earnings estimate by 7.5%. As we also expect GS to spend less in capex without its UK operations, our DCF-based fair value rises from S$1.66 to S$1.85. Overall, we agree with management’s intention to focus its energy on RWS and also opportunities in the region, as gaming here is still likely to experience good growth prospects.

NOL to raise $280m through 10-year bonds  @4.65%

SINGAPORE

The bond, priced at 4.65 per cent, is part of NOL’s US$1.5-billion ($2.03 billion) medium-term note programme, the container shipping company said.

The debt paper is expected to be issued on Sept 9 and NOL will have the option to redeem them at any time after five years, it said.

The net proceeds of the notes will be swapped from Singapore dollars into US dollars and used to partially finance the order for 12 new container ships announced by the company earlier this year.— Neptune Orient Lines yesterday said it would raise $280 million through a 10-year bond issue.

Govt-imposed price controls cap PetroChina’s gains

BEIJING

Net income climbed to 65.3 billion yuan ($13 billion) in the six months ended June 30, the oil company said yesterday.

That is below the 68.7 billion yuan median estimate of nine analysts surveyed by

China raised fuel tariffs once this year after five increases last year as it sought to limit inflation in the world’s fastestgrowing economy.

To counter a slump in refining margins, PetroChina took stakes worth C$1.9 billion ($2.4 billion) in two Alberta oil-sands projects in February and acquired Brisbane based coal-seam gas producer Arrow Energy

with Royal Dutch Shell for A$3.5 billion ($4.2 billion) this week.

“PetroChina has already concluded quite a few sizable takeover deals over the past few months and more are expected in the future,” said Citic Securities analyst Yin Xiaodong.

The Beijing-based energy producer plans to spend at least US$60 billion ($81 billion) in the next decade on overseas takeovers after paying at least US$6.2 billion in the past year for refineries and reserves in Australia, Canada, Singapore and Central Asia. — PetroChina, the world’s largest company by market value, posted a 29-per-cent rise in first-half profit, missing estimates as government-imposed price controls on petrol and diesel curtailed gains.Bloomberg. Revenue rose 65 per cent to 684.80 billion yuan.AGENCIES
