If i were a broker, i will keep clean distance with my clients and will not offer any tips for this might end up clients' loosing money.  My friend scolded a broker and closed the a/c for he lost some money. What an unreseonable person he is.    P/s, brokers are just like you and me, human beings and also, some people very rude to insurance agents, property agents, thinking that they take our commissions and they must serve us...........they are just earning a living and deserve those COMMISSIONS  and they are our fellow SINGAPOREANs!  (I am not property/insrurance agetns/brokers.

How to improve brokerage firm's service in singapore?

They should categorise few different groups of brokers serving different types of clients - either based on clients trading limits.  If this is not possible, few operators should be around to answer calls when the internet service is out of order so as to avoid clients' losses (big or small).

Any more add ons?

If you want park money at Stock, Follow our Temasek foot step -  Dont park in US stocks anymore.   US government keeps printing money, and in time to come, the value depreciate though , stock market could surge very high as what people predict, but, by then, the value is not attractive.

Temasek is so clever!  They dump US investment also because they see US$ depreciates in time to come and their stock might not worth as much when they sell?

Anyone got any view on this?

The Hindu News Update - Tues 9 June 09 Though Crude palm oil futures recover on fresh buying New Delhi (PTI): Crude palm oil futures recovered by 1.10 per cent on Tuesday afternoon trade on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) as traders indulged in creating fresh positions on expectations of rise in spot demand. At 1200 hours on the MCX, palm oil for the most-active May-month contract rose 1.10 per cent to Rs 361.20 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of 39 lots. The oil for delivery in the July-month contract rose 0.17 per cent to Rs 361 per 10 kg. The contract recorded business of 14 lots. Marketmen said fresh buying by traders and speculators on expectations of a pick-up in demand in the spot markets, mainly pushed up the crude palm oil prices at the futures market. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agri. & Commodities

All the palm oil play should be long term, anyone dare to say oil price will be low in the future? we all know the oil is gonna surge upon recovery. Question is there  a recovery? At least all the people who invested in the recent rally do, so it only make sense that oil and energy related should be a long term play, it will be a gradual but steady long uptrend. Sorry shortist...Indo Agri should be a decent palm play, same as First Recource and Kencana. GAR? Hmmm too many corporate surprises...Anyway I have been accumulating evertime thre is a dip...

If market is uptrend, retailer can wait and stick to his price he wishes to sell.  But, when market is down and fear factor overcomes the commitment, weak holders will just sell to the 'buy' queue simply the sell queue price is way too long to be reached.     Someone will queue many thousonds of lots at sell queue and made it impossible for you to sell at all and if one is needed to sell that stock, usually, he will sell to the 'buy' queue.

This is the game most stocks are played either by  big institutions or brokerage houses or people who work as a team., isnt it?  (Same group of people, queueing and buying at the same time)

Why i fear the big plunge might come true, because some said this round, the correction is at least 50%!!  Also, scare that after pushing up of penny stocks, very soon,   market might plunge drastically.  Hope the analysis is wrong and my fear is not valid. :)

Hi buddy, you're probly right. But I dun want to make it easy for them. They can call me first and I really want to demand an answer from them. Else they'll never take the initiative to call! Then I'll write in to MAS or SGX. Pretty much NOTHING else we can do.

It is not a good piece of advice to refuse to pay.  You know the brokers are at the upper hand.  You don't pay, they dirty your name all over the place.  They scalper you,  you can only say your piece in a forum. They are the judge and the executioner

Though, need to be optimistic, but last year's stock plunge is still fresh in memory.  We are still hanging on someone's (US) sleeve and its daily performance determines our daily fate, like it or not, it is the way it is ruling the stock market.  Sad but true.

P/s - today is trading looks like retail vs brokerage houses??  Where are those big instotution players and big fund gone to?

I am starting to believe the analyst's report of this one reaching 'slowly' at 1.50......with the power of shortselling( more than 5 bits or evern 10 bits different every other days!)  , couple with the weak market sentiments, this looks quite scary.Although might not be so low as $1.50, but, enough to scare people to sell off their holdings.

The US stock ends up.  Is the Plunge protection team saving US stock market?  or merely short covering?

niuyear      ( Date: 03-Jun-2009 12:20) Posted:

US trade -

From bloombeg.com, there is this talk about 'plunge protection team' who would buy at the end of the day just to keep the market stabalise for this moment until the US finanacial reports are materialised.  But, some said there is no such group in existence and the buying back at the end of the intra-day is just short sellers covering back their trade.

I am wondering tonight's Ben Bernanke testifying before House Budget Committee (on challenges facing us economy)  has any impact on stock market performance.  The bi-weekly banks reserve settlement also is tonight.

Anyone has any observation on the US economy calendar and events that are likely to affect that day's stock movement?  Tks

Is this a deliberation act by government to place people with military background into the school environment after careful consideration ?  If it is so, I welcome the move and it is indeed, a good move.

Terrorism must not be taken likely.  Students fall easy prey to be lured into this type of activities.  while the whole world is too tied up with reviving the world economy, the terrorists are making their way in at any opportunity.

Its time to do something before its too late.

It looks like 'falling knife'.  People start downloading whether making profit or making losses (some bot 1 or 2 years ago at high price and using this opportunity to off load.

Some said there is this group in US 'plunge protection team' to buy at end of intra day to stabslise the market until the US financial reports are finalised.  Some said is just short covering.  We cant see those 'hidden' hands behind the screen, so, its at risk now to enter the market.  I would rather wait for big correction first.
