In this forum, it is obvious that all posts which state TA opinions and FA studies, etc are the most welcome...

This is because people usually seek advice, tips and info so they can try and make some money from the info they found here...

And this is why we often find people commenting here eg. 'thanks for sharing', since that is precisely what they are eagerly after.

Whereas other 'discouraging' posts are not welcome at all.

But often, it is such 'discouraging' posts taht are the most beneficial, particularly but not restricted to novices... Smiley

Chill bro. There's a very thin line between opnions n facts. Live n let live. Let forummers decide. Censorship or discrimination in any form is not going to resolve the issue.

Their presence in this forum in times like this is an indication that the market has turned sour

BTW, keep up the good postings. This forum can do alot better with good TAs.

Forums are platforms for members to share n exchange views n I agree with admin tat it must be done in a responsible way without abusing it to spread rumours, half-truths, deceit, deceptive ploys, emotional postings to incite fears n greed for the betterment of the forum, to raise the quality of the forum and not degrade it.

It is a fact that most forums have their "terms of use" n "Forum etiquette" wherby no taunting, abuse, misleading posts or flaming is allowed for harmonious interaction among forumers whereby all agree to disagree in a harmonious way.

A timely reminder perhaps, but I do caution against shooting the messenger. Forums for wat they are designed to be are platforms for opinions to be 'freely' expressed(ie. within constraints), factual or otherwise. Why call it a forum if it is meant to put out facts and analysis. It is just as well that you call it a notice board.

I find it distasteful when the administrators of this forum issue veiled threats against supposed 'offenders'. Would it not be better for admin to ban the offender for breaching house rules?C'mon, there are far better ways to handle matters of opinion.Self policing would be the way to go.

Cheers

I too agree with trader88.sg tat and propose tat admin consider having a "Forum Etiquette" sticky thread (taking into consideration all the suggestions made here by fellow forumers), which is the practice in many other forums so tat it is not over time being push backwards into oblivion and forgotten.

All reminders from Admin should be made sticky, which is the practice in other forum also.

With sticky postings, there will no excuse for forumers not to know those reminders.

May I also suggest tat admin also include in the reminder tat forumers must not abuse the forum by including their personal ads link in their posts at the expense of the forum.

I'd like to add that anything that is sensitive (eg. religious and racial issues) should be avoided at all times!

My opinion: Admin should put this a first forum. All other forum should go under this one so that forumers are awared or else as time goes on this forum will be hidden.
