tanglinboy.. yah the plane itself is just a huge bird in the sky...and there is only one, for the moment. It's potential lies in long haul and being very very fuel efficient.. it can be deployed for cross pacific the day when Australia opens their sky.. ie Sin- Australia-USA lucrative route.. and Sin-London-USA when SIA decides to buy a landing lot in Heathrow... Besides, think SIA did a good job wielding its power over Airbus to be the first in the world to get a A380 delivery... Many other rich airlines esp those in the middleeast countries can easily throw $$ to get this privilge but it was given to SIA so guess the fuss is the prestige that comes with first to fly (typical singaporean mentality to want to be first) |

SIA up the ante yet again for luxurious travel. This is ultimate comfort in the sky... unbelievable.. well not that I can afford.. think it bodes well with the affluents... and SIA's bottomline when more of these jumbo jets are in service down the road... I have once heard that airlines need only a few 1st class passengers to make the flight worth it... not sure if it is true? Singapore Airlines Suites
