Looks like DJIA just doing program trading, plus a lot of panic dumping. Currently it's at the 161.8% Fibo extension from all-time high to the lowest pt on 17 Oct. Coincides with support at 13494 (a small peak on 4 Sep) plus 50% retracement from the closes on 16 Aug and 9 Oct. Monday projection - look for settlement around 13260-70. (Previous lows in Jun, 161.8% extension of the most recent candle.) If the diarrhoea worsens, next support at 13150-13170. |

Brutal selloff on Wall StreetDow down almost 367 points, its third worst day of the year, on fears about credit and housing sector, earnings, record-high oil prices, slide in dollar, what the Fed will do next.NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Stocks tumbled Friday as record-high oil prices, more problems in the bank sector and slower corporate earnings growth revived worries about an economic slowdown. The Dow Jones industrial average (Charts) lost around 367 points, seeing its third-biggest point loss of the year, its worst since the steep selloff in early August in the midst of the credit and mortgage market mess. |

Only 2 words - Wah..........Lau (sai)! :-P Broke thru downtrend line support, 13700, thus far looks like only the 13650-13660 support band gave some support (previous highs in Jun 07 cum 61.8% Fibo retracement level.). Expected slightly more resistance at 13700 but probably the newsflow just triggered the 'sell' button in the mkt participants. OUCH! Let's see how it ends tonight. For now, 'Man Jiang Hong' (sea of red). It's been quite some time before seeing a triple-digit negative figure for DJIA futures. Perhaps a mini-Black Friday in the making. |

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Stock declines accelerated Friday morning after Wachovia, Caterpillar and Honeywell all failed to meet earnings expectations, raising fresh concerns about weak third-quarter profits. Oil prices flirting with all time highs above $90 a barrel added to the early weakness. |

Bad result indication of bear market comming ? dow down 153 at open and broke support. looks like STI going to test 3680. technical rebound to 4000 not sure? feel like we are in a bear market, look at Nikkei, never recover from 18300 plunge and for ever making new low! And Dow trying to follow suit if does not break 14200 again. expect earning to slow next quater so we are looking at double top formatiom turn bear market? same goes for STI test max 3920. ? anyone guess |

There's a chance that DJIA may just do a technical rebound today, looking at the last 2 days' candlesticks and trade volumes. There's a double doji in the last 2 days. Also, the body of the last 4 candlesticks have been shrinking continuously, indicating less and less selling pressure. Downtrend line from 8 Oct to 18 Oct has thus far been respected (all closes are above the line). Support seen at 13820, resistance at 13950. |

Dark outlook for stocksU.S. markets wary as oil prices keep up record run; earnings from 3M, Caterpillar, Honeywell ahead.Oil prices crossed the key $90 mark for the first time in after-hours trading in New York yesterday. In Asian trading on Friday, prices had eased to $89.54 a barrel. A number of firms are on tap to report earnings before the market open, including Dow components 3M (Charts, Fortune 500), Caterpillar (Charts, Fortune 500) Honeywell (Charts, Fortune 500) and McDonalds (Charts, Fortune 500). Techs may get some support from Google (Charts, Fortune 500), which reported late Thursday strong earnings and revenue that came in above Wall Street's estimates. Friday also marks the 20th anniversary of Black Monday, one of the biggest market crashes in history, when the Dow lost 22.6 percent in a single day. The rising price of oil, along with a huge profit drop at Bank of America (Charts, Fortune 500), pressured sentiment on Thursday. The blue-chip Dow finished the session a few points lower, although the Nasdaq managed a modest gain. In global trade, major markets in Asia finished the session lower. European stocks were lackluster in early trading. |
