STI has fall from it high to formed a stronger support base at 3,400 and can move on to retest 3,800 range over the 1st Q of 2008, while cautious mode will still prevail by overriding (felt by BBs) on sub-prime woes effect at the back of their mind. US subprime mortagage has dominated the market news. If one had held onto some fundamentally good stocks in 2006 until now, you would be reaping quite good gains despite 2 severe market corrections in March and July this year.Singapore has seized ths chance to invest in 2 prominant investment banks facing debt due to this subprime issue. With oil price at a high, the Middle East countries and Asian state investors are awash with cash.   Some say US economy will go into a recession. But some data coming out from US suggest there is underlying strength in the US economy. US job growth has been good. Latest US consumer spending shows US personal spending jumped more than expected in November.   We just congratulated our 10 millionth visitor to Singapore. Notice he is from India. As Asian economies continue to prosper, air travel will increase. Gradually Asian consumers spending power will increase.   On a long term basis in investment, infrastructure in emerging economies and commodities should be firm.   Have a Happy New Year in 2008!

DOW look ok but STI looks bearish. still in downtrend and below 200sma as it havent break the downtrend resistance. entered 30%  of portfolio 1st to test water. will add more when STI breaks 3550, 3630-3666 n 3900   goodluck everyone. hope this rally will last till after CNY

The US economy is unlikely to slip into recession, said Abby Joseph Cohen, chief investment strategist at Goldman Sachs. That does not mean that the probability of a recession is zero. We just think that a slowing in growth is more likely than a recession. The Fed has shown in recent weeks that it is paying attention and that it wants to boost people's confidence Whie there was weakenss in US housing construction and some areas of private consumption, this would be offset by export growth and corporate investment. Goldman sees shares as undervalued. The fair value  for the S&P 500 for the year 2008 would be 1675 and Dow would be around 14750 at the end of next year. Ms Cohen said trend in US inflation would remain moderate. The decisive factor is that central banks have acted in close cooperation and that is an enormously important signal to the market as to the availability of liquidity.She said she is increasingly optimistic when we are into 2008 everyone will see that the central banks did the right thing.

Stocks yes, u can time to buy warrents and CFD. anyway, as mentioned below i got my UTs yesterday before 3pm thus the price i get will be yesterday closing px if monday gap up should (i believe)  be good  for me. got some STI CFD ETF and a couple of mid cap shares. looking forward to sell it next week or so. Biosensor, Noble, China HongX, Yongnam & Yangzhijiang Good Luck to me and other the rest. Merry Christmas and Happy new Year!

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	STI look bottomed, sTI seem to formed a less than ideal wave e of the WAVE 4, didnt want to comment yesterday as i need today to confirm whether STI has finished wave e of WAVE 4. STI should proceed to make wave a of the WAVE 5. a safer way is to buy when STI retraced and formed wave b of the WAVE 5.
