it wont come up fiercely today although DOW did a very strong reversal last night...ppl are still cautious...as we study the mentality of Singaporeans' ....it affects one quite badly shaken up...bringing memories of what happened in Jan...fear will grip and after wad they saw happened yesterday...they will stay sideline and watch before deciding to go back into the stocks market and buy up but of cos just like yesterday those who bought low...and like ppl who bought on the 22Jan...definitely high risks high gains |

guess not at the moment.......rise from the -71 region of yesterday..just wonder how green it can go ..although i think the green might be limited..lesser than that of 71...fear is more powerful than greed give time for investors to realise tt they are missing out on gd deals...than they will start to jump in slowly again |

eh...which website u go to see the STI futures? by the way, just wonder for STI futures (actually i din noe we got STI futures)...is it like DJI futures too..in a way that it is ongoing even during holiday? |

a bit of sunlight amidst the dark clouds, STI futures close 14 points or 0.45% up, hinting the investors are still confident of the future another good thing is that crude oil prices close at $98.85 on asian trade. below the key $100 level |

Everytime there is some bad news somewhere analysts over react. This has become the norm since the subprime issue erupted. Take it with a pinch of salt, the market will stabilize itself within a couple of days, and then again good news (interest rate cut) comes and go, ...etc. In conclusion, all these are largely expected and no surprises. This year, one should play and behave like the rats to be successful. |

SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--Stock markets across Asia have tumbled late on Wednesday, with a sharp fall in Japan weakening sentiment across the region. In part, traders in Japan say the decline worsened following word from KKR Financial Holdings (KFN) that it has delayed repayment of billions of dollars of commercial paper for the second time and begun a new round of restructuring talks with creditors. That is according to a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission made by the publicly-traded affiliate of the private equity group. "The news has deteriorated already-low market sentiment," a trader at European brokerage in Tokyo said. The Nikkei 225 Index dropped 3.3% to close at 13,310.37. Chemical and rubber stocks were among the hardest hit with Shin-Etsu Chemical (4063.TO) dropping 5.3% to Y5,400 and Yokohama Rubber (5101.TO) down 3.1% to Y563. Also weighing on stock sentiment has been a rise in crude oil prices overnight. Front-month crude was recently lower, down 82 cents at $99.19 per barrel on Nymex, but the contract''s close above the $100 mark in New York did prompt a slide in U.S. stocks late on Tuesday. After rising as much as 1.3% at one point, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.1% to 12,337.22. Outside of Japan, the Nikkei decline has sparked a retreat in other Asian bourses. Spreadbetting firms are also calling for a decline in European markets, with U.S. stock futures now drifting lower in screen trade. "As the Japanese market is falling sharply, other markets such as Hong Kong are tracking the loss, and the Kospi has also been affected," said Lee Kyung-Soo, analyst at Daewoo Securities. |

actually it's not unexpected, with the Dow futures in Red (-76) now... Coupled with Dow closing -10 last night, from +100 at our close yesterday... that's -110pts... -110-76 = -186pts... cant see any reason why STI should cheong... |
