STI to cross 3000 boosted by long-term investors

we r less than 2 hours into the morning trade and considering the volume now...it is very high...but as we saw recently, morning high volume doesn't mean afternoon session will follow... US went up 50+ points last night...but looking at STI..it is down...likely influenced by HSI as it is in the red now |

hullo..the US markets are playing tricks on people.. RECORD HIGH oil prices...damn lousy earnings from Fannie Mae... but US markets still up.. ridiculous.. |

it was mentioned in the Strait Times money section today that many don't believe STI will go past 3300 yet..UOB Kayhian painted not a very bright picture as they said there r more downside risks | ||||

Yes at one time everybody were saying this a trading market. But stocks with long term potential are not going "ding dong" forever. After a while, it will break out. Once a upon a time, Noble Group went from $1 to $1.20 and then back to $1. It kept going up and down within this range. That crucial beak out price which I still remember was around $1.22. Noble Group never looked back since then. |

Today some of the china stocks certainly proved the "bears on china stocks", they can indeed perform! Forget about the "buy the blue chip" mentality. Remember that blue chips were once penny stocks. Find the penny stocks which have potential in future and just follow closely. Sometimes we might make a mistake when we sell a long term potential stock and the stock rebounds slightly above your selling price. Most would say "don't chase". But I will chase because when the stock goes up too high, I would have pay more to buy more lots. Although I attended a TA course, I simply refused to follow what they taught me on making the first buy. If I follow what they taught, me, I would have to buy at a higher price. |

it hit intra-day high in the last 20mins before closing 0.02% up only...volume today probably is better than yesterday.. we are now 50 points away from the 3300 mark...might see some pullbacks before it can close above 3300...similar to what we experience for the 3200 mark |

Uncle ak, think dow cud close flat or slightly negatv/positv.......non mgf index level surprisingly goes up to 52.....forecast is 49.3...last month reading was 49.6......reading abv 50 means expansion......anyway r u thinking of shorting Venture 2morrow????

Beware if Nikkei goes below 13944.3 tomorrow and if USDJPY fails to trade above 105.43. Didn't really like what I saw for HSI and the HSI futures. If HSI trades below 26173.8 and HSI futures trades below 26231... expect selling pressure in Asian markets. Today HSI did an engulfing bear candle, and HSI futures made a new downtrend. STI also made an inverted hammer today. Technically STI is in uptrend but any failure by STI to trade above 3293 tomorrow will likely lead to selling pressure. It looks like 3250 lvl is also offering some resistance currently. |
