ya elfinchilde...same thoughts too on the liquidity of volume...not much meat to 'trade' about in short or long...well we r entering the 2nd half of 2008 soon...hopefully rosier picture for all of us... the HSI indeed did have impact on us and created fear...even the US futures is affected by it ..i think... |

hm. not good. HSI has dropped 1,000 plus points. If it tanks til closing, be prepared for renewed sell down on STI after 4 pm. |

yea cyjjerry, that's why it may be dangerous to short/long a counter. all it takes is one BB to give up and throw/buy, and you'll see large movement. not worth the risk to me. |

probably? volume had been super low these days when we come into June...seeing the situation...many counters are on intra-day low or near to it...nobody buying...so the buy queue very easy to break down with small volume

HSI followed the SCI. shanghai tanked 7% as we speak. catch up from yesterday and the central bank's sudden raise for reserves by 100 pts. DJIA futures down too. sit out and do nothing. :) |

Odds are high that STI will test 3033. It's either today afternoon or tomorrow. HSI looks really bad. Even 23600 key support broken. Nikkei is struggling big time to keep above 14000 psychological support. |

wah, left the screen to take a long break since it red at 20. now 31 and vol just .5. likely hit a b like yesterday day end. HSI hovering around red 800 plus since 1115. hope it don't drop further after our break time. if you buy HSI will drop above 1000, as it happended before, then you may buy Q 10bids lower on your delighted counter near mid day closing loh. Your choice leow. | ||

very slow sessions - all go for holidays??? up 111 down 378 total volume 529 million total value 605 million must wait for europe now - or hopefully that side would wake up the market |

may be a better idea not to move today, be it long or short. still a lot of data to be released from the US these two weeks. Lehman brothers just reported a 2.8billion loss. MS and Goldman come up in the next two weeks. There's also oil prices. Vol is too low for effective shorting on most counters, not unless you're willing to risk a naked short. though given the volatility, i personally would prefer to stay out. |

HSI is on red around 680 after market opened for 15 mins. Generally, STI top 20 losers didn't respond abruptly. Likewise STI, but gradually declined on red fr 10plus when market opened till now around 20. Hence, shorting may not help u to earn much loh. As other sifus pted out most of the valid shorting criteria. Had exited fr the trading after clearing my remaining Kepld, to take a break with u all here. |

hmmm...even if wanna short also need volume to be safer...it is rather quiet and stagnant on many counters in terms of volume...wont wanna be caught off guard

many would expect HSI to plunge from the morning...but need to assess how terrible the plunge is...if its better than expected...probably can lift up the market sentiments slightly
