Dow futures now +67 This is good news. But also bear in mind that the market is really volatile. The slightest hint of bad news will swing the sentiment the other way. |

No nightmare, slept well, though went to bed late at 3am. The initial plunge of near 200 pts at DJ caused a bit of panic. Tonite, DJ may perform better. Not sure will the Fed meeting raise the issue of rate cutting again. The .25 emergency rate cut is not substantial and much people quite disappointed. | ||

Hi CW, I hope I can cheer up the pple here. It is the really thing.. But the Biggest Loser in Bear Stearns epi is Mr Cayne. Cayne ranked as Wall Street's richest CEO, with $1.3 billion of assets, according to Forbes magazine's 2007 billionaire survey. His stake in the firm approached $1 billion last year when the shares reached their peak price of $170. Under terms of the JPMorgan takeover, his holdings are now worth about $12 million. Here is a little bed time story. The Fed approached Bear Stearns to help save LTCM in 1995. Mr Cayne was the one who reject the FED. So Wall St. is saying it is a karma thing. Anyway....I think he lost almost everything....... |

Ah... so close.... but no cigar. In the red by 75 points now... The man himself has spoken: Greenspan sees many casualties from crisis: report LONDON - There will be many casualties from the unfolding financial market crisis, which will lead to a large-scale overhaul of international banking regulations, codes and risk management, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said. Writing in the Financial Times, the former Fed chief said much of the financial system's risk-valuation models failed, not because they were too complex but because they were "too simple to capture the full array of variables governing that drive global economic reality." http://sg.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20080317/tbs-business-summary-7318940.html You know how many copycats of him there are right? This looks bad man.... |

Andrew, Your carpark comment is really ticklish! Haha! Anyway, DJIA got resistance at 12000. The good thing is... it's making an attempt to go over it. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ta?s=%5EDJI&t=1d&l=on&z=l&q=c&p=e5,e10,e20&a=m26-12-9,r14,fs,vm&c= Should see a bit more dingdonging of the index, but expect it to close far better than expected. Meanwhile, you might find another empty carpark slot soon. :-P |
