Be careful.... The fundamentals from US have not changed that much. Still mostly bad news coming from the Fed - high inflation, credit crisis etc... The only bit of good news is that the oil price has fallen due to a surprise increase in inventories. That in itself may not mean that oil prices are now on a downtrend. Notice the low volumes today. There is not much action from BBs even though the STI rallied 50+ points. This could be a setup for another dead cat bounce. |

HSI and SHI soften, STI follow suit. Likely STI will hover the gain of 50. If it can hold at 2888 best liao. Yes, those got cheap liulian since Mon, before lunch can open them up for makan, should be very nice taste loh. |

As long as Dow keeps making new lows - still bearish. 10827 tested. My target for the intermediate low - 10780. There will be a rebound either on Fri or next Monday, driven purely by technicals, but do not expect it to be very strong. Too many stale bulls created. Fundamentals-wise, we've yet to see the impact of high oil creep into PPI (producers price index). Need a few more banks to collapse, need more newspapers screaming 'Dow hits 10600' or something like that. I don't rule out a hard test of 2745 yet for STI. So I'm kinda more inclined to believe any recovery is likely U-shaped - but a pretty wide U at that. |
