Do they know anything about breeding abalones? Think they have zero knowledge or scanty one about this type of business on how to rear successful marketable abalones, how to multiply population and make more money on the increase, how to market the brand name identification and other marketing tactics., Just listen to people say abalone business is good and blindly set up an abalone business with public funds is bound to lose money, but then when lose and lose please don't give excuse after excuses to justify poor production and act of God against the abalones as a sad story for mortality and failure. Walau yeh, better get real experts to revamp the business for the sake of saving the business' future. There is no diplomas or degrees needed to build a success in this business. Just time commitment and love for these creatures and cultivate them properly and these sea snails would reward handsomely. Once the basics are in place, then the marketing will take care of itself to bring in big money. I hope the management is already geared to improve, otherwise Oceanus will really and literally put  the " ocean" before " us" (the invesotrs) and dump everyone and all to struggle for their financial lives in the deep blue sea. Hehehe.

not to even mention that the money they have lost all these years can be used to invest in man made breeding farms and the technologies used to regulate the water temp. All the problems can be prevented if the management had learned from their past mistakes. Crap stock, must be avoided at all cost. | ||||

Management just didn't dare tell  everyone that abalone breeding is a very high risk business otherwise will share price be so high? Very high chance of abalone die because of uncontrollable factors. They like to tell you how much value abalones can fetch in the market that's because abalones are not easy to breed. The company's track record speaks for itself .......... how much of investors money has been lost, paying the directors high salaries and how much profit the company has made over the past  10 years. So for next 10 years, you still think that the company can record high profits? If ever it does, sell off your share when it cheong ....... cos the next year it will probably lost money and cause share price to  fall again.

The losses in the biological assets of the Group arising from the damages caused by Typhoon Usagi amounted to approximately RMB12.3 million based on the preliminary estimation.  Just trade with care because this is ONLY the PRELIMINARY ESTIMATION, more damages and losses may be reported soon. |

the management of oceanus might have known of their deep rooted problems and is already running into deep shit.  At times, they are just making use of natural calamities to write off more produce.

Many of the Oceanus shareholders in this thread  are heaps wiser than its management team running the company. They've correctly called  the types of   setbacks Oceanus would encounter farming abalones in China a number of times,  something that the CEO and executives with their GLC credentials  have failed to anticpate so far.  Oceanus  really needs to relocate their farming operations  to safer, cleaner waters  [maybe South America]  and not over-rely on foreign expertise to run  the farm, in other words, overhaul the whole set-up.  Farming in China to cut costs  is no longer feasible and they should set their sights further.
