guidance on the12th dec, any idea when is the 4th qtr date? Ya, i am eager to see their 4th qtr guidance... then probably will shoot higher in jan 2007? |

Keep chartered for 2007. Trust me.... won't go back to 1.15 any time soon (provided there's isn't any big shock like Spore kena bomb by terrorists etc) My personal TP is 1.6 and above..... (after 4th Q results) |

Billywows, thanks for the inputs. Have bought at $1.15. Thought $1.40 is at the high side. Now it seems reasonable priced. But if STI down, this counter may just follow STI as well. |

Increased capacity = Increase revenue! Let's see its Q4 earnings to be out next month. CSM closed up 2.1% in Nasdaq last nite to 9.15. So long as its US listing stays above 9.00, CSM in Singapore will stay above 1.40. |

Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing said it was using 75-78% of capacity at its
most advanced factory, slightly better than forecast. Chartered had said in October that
about 70% of total factory capacity at Fab 7 would be used this quarter. Fab 7's customers
include micro processor maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc, Microsoft Corp's Xbox 360
video game console, and wireless technology and chip supplier Qualcomm Inc. (BT) most advanced factory, slightly better than forecast. CIMB-GK says it has raised its rating for the semiconductor sector here to "overweight" from "hold," saying that strong fundamentals and the peaking of the interest rate cycle next year would support increases in the valuations of stocks in the sector. "We expect the recent breakout from trough valuations of near book values to expand further in 2007, albeit with a near-term correction in light of [the] recent strong run-up," CIMB-GK analyst Khoo Chen Hsung said in a note. "The sector is in better shape entering 2007 than [it was] for most of 2006, and we are now at the peak of the interest rate cycle, compared to a rising rate environment in 2006," he said. The brokerage has raised its target prices for CSM to $1.65 from $1.39 and for STATS ChipPAC to $1.53 from $1.28, saying these are its top picks in the sector. |

In Longer term wise, i am still confident that this counter will head north. FA wise and Trend wise. thus may use this correction to accumulate.. look at the bright side. Until it dip below 1.24, the uptrend will be still intact.. |

i am more worried for IPOs, especially those thay rallied alot. Good time to short them as they will crumpled like those emotional traders who spike up them. Teeth, time to unload and short for a change? |

Closed down to 8.87 in Nasdaq last nite in line with its 1.40 close in SGX yesterday - despite Nasdaq's 2.2% loss. Should dip like StatschP today in SGX .... *Sigh! |
