Buying cheap cheap on the way down started about a year ago... As it goes lower and lower, many will be forced to throw in the towel... By the way, 'Newmoon' (remember him?) must be pitying all those who snapped up all the 'cheap cheap' shares as they fall and become 'greater and greater value' by their fundamentals... |

What once was cheap, its now cheaper. When will we see the bottom? I think why wait for the bottom... If the price is right, go stock it up! | ||||

AK Tks for the reminder. As high volatility expected, think can sleep better over the weekend by staying sideline (my view only). But if price TOO irresistable, then....

AK opines that b4 lunch, UOB was pushed high to give a good gauge that its FY report must be good n it will boost d STI with other followers. However, d report, despite 15% Q4 increase of profit n 40cts div, market no immediate response, instead BBs run road together. So as to take profit acc since morning. Many small retailers were caught off guard after their lunch out. As a result, panic selling to cut loss is d consequence, esp those no intention to keep for long. |

CFD is a leverage or margin instrument..double edged sword ..good if u know your risk and money management. I was using it to short the market and it was fantastic. u can check it out on the followings..arrange a meeting with the reps to fully understand the instrument. http://www.igmarkets.com.sg/?QPID=1008&QPPID=1 http://www.phillipcfd.com/ http://limtan.com.sg/ https://www.kecfd.com/home.asp http://saxocapital.com.sg/private/cfds/default.aspx http://www.cmcmarkets.com.sg/en/content/index.jsp http://www.cityindexasia.com/ n2dave ( Date: 27-Feb-2009 01:09) Posted:

Heading opp ways with such a small gap as ds moment, not much diff, esp in term of % variant. STI was pulled down by most of d component stocks, but not serious, esp today is last trading day. Hope it maintain d current momentum, till end of d day. Then we can sleep well over d weekends liao. Cheers.

CFD products should come 9 months ago! As if starting using CFD investment tool at current low volume and uncertain market would not appropriate and chances of profit from investment will be very very slim... In short too risk to trade!!!

In my opinion, the major support level will be the low of 1473 made on the 28th of October last year. Blogging at moneytalk.sg on the stock market, ETF and anything to do with money. |

D x pt on the chart is provided by d aggregate performance of d 30 STI component stocks. For d last one mth, most of the comp stocks had been hovering within a very narrow band. Henceforth, u will see STI had been squeezing it self bt 1600-1700. But with current global volatile market sentiment, Spore affected greatly. AK guesses, d index trend will be facing south, but gradually. How long it can dive, thats much depend when the world economy recovers. However, unlikely there is certain great shift in d trend line, unless there is catastrophic finance n other unforeseen calamity disasters happen. Above just AK view only, no call for anything. Cheers. |

Whole numbers generally act as major support levels. We see the STI fighting to maintain the 1600 level. |

Pretty surprised by the reseillence of STI. Dow has broke its major support but STI still have not even test its major support yet. Currently, it seems that it is holding 1569 as a minor support. Blogging at moneytalk.sg on the stock market, ETF and anything to do with money. |

Prechter Advises ‘Closing Shorts’ on U.S. Stocks By Sarah Jones Feb. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Elliott Wave International Inc.’s Robert Prechter, who advised shorting U.S. stocks three months before the bear market began, said investors should now end those bets following the recent market sell off. Prechter, chief executive of the market forecasting firm, warned in this month’s ‘Elliott Wave Theorist’ that a rebound in stocks could be “sharp and scary” for anyone who is so-called short. In a short sale, investors borrow stock and agree to sell them at a later date on hopes of capturing profit by replacing the shares after prices fall. “This is an environment of escalating financial chaos,” wrote Prechter who first shot to fame in the 1980s after cautioning investors that stocks would crash two weeks before Black Monday. “Our main job is to keep the money we have. If we exit now, we will do that.” JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s U.S. equity strategist Thomas Lee today issued a “trading buy” recommendation on the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index as the measure yesterday tumbled to a 12-year low at 743.33 points. Lee set a “short-term” target of 800. The S&P 500 has sunk 52 percent since its October 2007 record high as financial firms worldwide notched up $1.1 trillion in credit-related losses and the world’s largest economies fell into the first simultaneous recessions since World War II. In July 2007, Prechter advised shorting U.S. stocks saying “aggressive speculators should return to a fully leveraged short position.” He yesterday recommended investors cover that position. “The market is compressed,” Prechter said in the note published yesterday. “When it finds a bottom and rallies, it will be sharp and scary for anyone who is short. I would rather be early than late |
