yes, ak do hv a meter at home, Omron IA1 model. this is the 3rd model I use since Jul 2001, when SAF diagnosed me got HBP at 135 and subsequently referred to NUH specialist for follow-up. No fault found at my body after a series of check, fr toes to eyes, less brain. verdict was inherited sickness???

since then taking 2 types of HBP tablets, total 18mg daily to keep the blood pressure below 130. at nite, it can falls below 100.

blood/urine test and consult specialist twice per yr, sometime 3 times, depending the doc.

since, early this yr I hv stopped taking the reading daily liao as specialist claimed that my BP is under controlled. but will do surprise check once a while, esp STI topples, he he.

Have you tried checking at different times of the day (eg in front/away from trading platform Smiley

)?

Seriously, I heard that "celery" juice can lower BP (you rather I say "beer" right?).

ha ha agreed, smart and efficient are inversely proportional to high blood pressure.

AK don't hv both but also kena high blood pressure. heng, till now still survive but hv to countdown liao.

guess what guy, in the advertisement, they said they will give 512memory for free... then, they said, never mind, they can key in the other phone model code in order to give me 2GB memory for free... !! wow... ha ha.. just got my new E51 phone from IMM mall.... I am so damn happy with my new phone, it is indeed very beautiful, it is my first time, seeing Nokia provide the USB cable to phone.. somemore got cleaning cloth, win liao... the only drawback is no case.. so, i shall buy a sexy one for my new phone, LOL..

yeah, MIO plan is damn good, shiok!

Yes! At $55.80/mth is indeed v. attractive price to join even tho I'm on corporate plan currently. May switch to Mio plan soon. Believe Singtel is leading the market and will eat into others market share.

sign up Singtel MIO plan last year July, I can change new cell phone every year mah... so, just nice today got promotion, they are slasing the price from SGD 69.29 to SGD 55.80, amazing !! furthermore, got SGD 100 off for 3G&3.5G cell phone, ha ha.. lagi baik... so, without any trade in required , I am going to choose to renew my MIO plan , so, next month bill only SGD 55.80, and I am going to get Nokia E51... price is S$ 88 after deducting SGD 100 promotion... a lah, I just cannot wait for the stupid i-phone, get it next year July la.. maybe the price would be cheaper also, ha ha... oh yeah, so, I renew tomorrow, also can get $5 off because of HSBC credit card, heee... so, i am going to get new phone for S$85 tomorrow, somemore can sell my old Nokia phone for profits...

ghee whiz .. in other words , can this ant-brain say that we are just staying in a hotel, where we make our own bed, renovate and maintain and safe guard the hotel-room , and hire a car without a chauffeur maintain it and pay for all the expences ... and if we are not the owners then majority of us must be transient guests at this hotel... hahaha !

In 30 years, women may even give birth at 100

LONDON - WOMEN aged 100 will be able to give birth in 30 years' time as infertility could be eradicated, scientists have predicted.

Experts say advances in germ cell technology, in which skin cells are used to create sperm and eggs and then combined to make human embryos, will soon allow women to start a family at any time in their lives, British press reported yesterday.

The technology is still to be developed, but biologists believe that treatments using cells from skin called induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) could replace in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).

Parents would also be able to choose a so-called 'designer' baby, selecting their perfect child based on characteristics such as hair colour, height, intelligence and disease-free genes, the Telegraph reported.

The forecast, reported in the Nature journal, were made by leading scientists who were asked to anticipate advances in reproduction by 2038 to mark the 30th birthday of Louise Brown, the world's first test- tube baby.

Dr Davor Solter, a biologist at the Institute of Medical Biology in Singapore, said: 'The goals will remain the same in that we'll be trying to give children to those who can't have them and remove children from those who don't want them. I think IVF has gone about as far as it can.

'Next, I expect that germ cells, sperm and eggs will be successfully derived from induced pluripotent stem cells - cells that have the potential to develop into any of the body's cell types.'

He added: 'It means every person regardless of age will be able to have children. Newborn children could have children and 100-year-olds could have children. It could easily happen in the next 30 years.'

Other steps forward that are envisaged in the next 30 years include gestation taking place in an artificial womb, low-cost IVF treatment being made available at &pound50 (S$135) a cycle and, more controversially, the creation of embryos for experiments.

Writing in Nature, Mr Zev Rosenwaks, director of the Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility in New York, said: 'I see the technology going towards possible eradication of infertility altogether.

'With nuclear-transfer technology or cell modification, I think we'll be able to generate sperm and eggs for anybody.'

But IVF pioneer Alan Trounson, who leads the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine in San Francisco, said that germ cell technology would raise debate about safety and the ethics of extending a woman's fertile period beyond what nature intended, the Daily Mail reported.

He said: 'I think this will happen, and it raises a lot of ethical issues about safety and the children. There will be concerns raised over whether the fertile period should be extended beyond its natural point. I think people should be given the choice.'

Netmums director Sally Russell, who founded the online support group for mothers, said: 'I think it is a very weird notion of a woman becoming a mother at the age of 100.

'I would question who would want to have a child at that age.

no big issue, AK involved in NDP since 1989 on PA and Sound segment till 1997 when it was commercialised as our unit unable to provide the manpower to support the mth long show.

Wow, the cost does sound like a really good bargain esp with good environ & services provided.
The sensei point is definitely a competitive advantage. They probably have a waitlist or something (not that I am in need of one at this pt).
Come to think of it, foreigners may have problem getting medical care there unless pte insur also covered.
