Golden Agri, Indo Agri and Wilmar are all belong to plantation catergories, their main business is deal with the palm oil , which 100% relationship to the CPO.But the CPO variation also depebd on the Soy bean Oil. Both Soy Bean oil and CPO has form double bottom on Oct and Nov. Personally i have take position on Indo Agri at 0.395 and 0.45 last week. |

if analysts are so zhun in share price, they don't have to sit at their desk reading boring financial data and writing boring report....so take their comment with a large pinch of salt. Palm oil are used for many purposes, cooking oil, soap, detergent, etc etc. These are things that we won't do away with even during recession. Large portion of palm oil output is used for such purpose instead of biofuel. So, the analyst should decouple a little the CPO and Palm oil price. GAR is not able to move much mainly due to its large share floated after a few split. It will have to wait for market recovery to start before it can really chiong. |

"Strong supply, weak crude oil prices and a slow economy should keep CPO prices weak near term," says Deutsche Bank, but adds Wilmar benefitting to some extent as is getting discount on CPO purchases due to its perceived financial, operational strength. Rates Wilmar Buy, rates both First Resources and Indofood Agri Hold, rates Golden Agri Sell. At this price, Golden Agri is still rated a Sell. |

Golden Agri's Q3 net profit up 56%

SINGAPORE - Golden Agri-Resources, a unit of Indonesia's largest oil-palm grower, reported on Wednesday third-quarter profit rose at the slowest pace in a year as prices slid.
Net income climbed to 56 per cent from a year ago to US$224 million, or 2 US cents a share, from US$144 million, or 1 US cent a share, a year earlier, the company said. Revenue grew 56 per cent to US$831 million. There was an exceptional gain of US$20.1 million in nine months to end September 2008 mainly related to negative goodwill arising from the acquisition of remaining shares in an associated company, which thereafter became a wholly owned subsidiary. A year ago, in the nine months to end September 2007, the exceptional gain of US$73.6 million was mainly attributable to the negative goodwill arising from the exercise of the option related to a convertible loan to acquire new subsidiaries. |
