Ffor the first time this year the dow jones futures (dec 2009) is actually higher than its daily close (friday). Its time to take a long position to dec 2009.

It is okay if the market is range bound... What is worrying is for it to be still in a downtrending mode... No one can tell what mode the market is doing at any time... any day... agree? And to say things like "surely", and "sure to" simply reflects the mentality of the one making such a statement... It is better to use terms like "may", "likely", "probably", highly probable", etc...

Market volumes are really low today. Only <250 million shares traded. A big piece of economic news is needed to bring interest back to the market. Otherwise, I believe it will continue being sleepy and tightly range bound. |

Hahaha... ;) I would say, in volatile times, avoid all stocks at all cost... unless one is in it for the thrill-seeking fun... For newbies, I would advise them to totally avoid playing any stock...unless... unless every person they meet on the street is shivering in the knees, or swear kannily at the very mention of the word 'stocks'... Then, and only then is it worth to load up some stocks and hold it foe a few months... hehehe... |

With a market propped up by 'Atlas' bailout packages... And not natural economic growth... Well, at least it can only temporarily grow if the younger generation of Americans still have a pechant to live it up, and spend and spend into debt like there will be no tomorrow... hehehe... |

Yes I agree with you totally. If this is what EWI described wave B as "phonies" and "sucker's rally", then the recent extremely thin volume and major non-confirmations between major indices could really describe the "phony-ness" of this market. Tiltillation, seduction then frustration, repeating again and again....

STI 3000 is a reasonable guess since that is where the formidable 61.8 retracement level is. But since C waves are the weakest, it really depends on the overall sentiment in sp market. Do also note that the dollar has not been hitting new lows as the other asset markets are "trying" to rally...
