Ouch ! ..it hurts .. ! I felt slightly sick when i read the headline "Its Grandma's turn to work " in Today . Shouldn't the elderly be palying with their grand children in their twilight years ..their remaining human lifes ? ... maybe there are some lessons for us in here ..some wake up calls for both the young and the old ... Or have we successfully created a microscopic new brave world .. are we giving the world a glimpse of what the future holds ? ... a sample of 6 million people for 6 billion people ....? we should be proud that we are an example for the whole world ... our success is through pure human labour ... nothing more nothing less ... hahaha ! Maybe the Nobel Prize committee should award us collectively the Economics Prize for a successful Social and Ecomonic Engineering ! We are pure economics .. living , breathing for economic reasons and nothing else ... hahaha ! |

Here's 3 of the terrapins (the fattest one, and the newest 2 additions); all 5 are red-eared terrapins. They just eat, drink, expel, and pretty much enjoy stretching their legs most of the time. Otherwise, you'd find them having afternoon siestas. The big one is about 17cm long, 13cm wide; the 2 babies used to be the size of $1 coins; now they'd be about the size of those mini Hongkong char siew buns (food again... :-P). Didn't take a shot of the hinged one; it's extremely combative for a turtle; its key feature is its ability to withdraw its head AND then clamp shut part of the shell just beneath its head. Macham like a clam hehe! This one's a real monster - it's half the size of a basketball. Occasionally I'd let them out for walks around my living room. They need the exercise. Whoever said turtles are slow never tried finding missing turtles before. They can easily crawl away to another room in less than 5 mins! |

hehe, CWQuah, food is a national pasttime. 
i had roborowskis before, the smallest of the dwarf hammies.  man, they were adorable! imagine six baby butts, concertedly pushing a paper roll together. or fighting for space in the water/food dish. They liked to 'rearrange' their furniture, too. They'd shift the houses, the wheels, the paper rolls. Anythign that could be shifted. Home decor.  i cried like heck when they died though. it's a real heartache. 
A hinged turtle?  ye gawds, five terrapins. reptiles grow until they die. How big are yours. 
i had a friend who had a monitor lizard once. that thing was like more than 1m in length, and kept escaping from its cage and going beneath the couch.

AWWWWWWWWW! Campbell??? Spoon? I have 5 terrapins and one hinged turtle. Nope, I'm not thinking along the lines of turtles and soup. Hmm..... Just dunno why somehow inevitably this thread seems to link pets and food. MUAHAHAAHAH!
