Usually people are very  gian-gian to buy, especially when they see all others are making money, and so eager to buy some more to earn more.

So when I see people like you, I am very impressed, because at least you can think independently.

unfortunately,  the market functions this way so that money can continue to circulate and re-circulate in the system -- greeds and aspirations feed the system...

inexperienced players will continue to deposit money into the system and savvy investors will continue to withdraw money from the system ...fortunately, this keeps so many people employed in system (including Bernanke, Giethner, ministers' summit...etc..)

only dividends are from real businesss growth/profits-- all others are money-in-circulation.. imagine you are the last person to buy a stock at its highest price and then it plunged to very low during downturn ..... the  seller who sold you avoided the loss and you carry the monkey on your back till recovery (if it does not recover, it means that you bought it at over-valued price -- someone benefited and is enjoying a holiday elsewhere).

that's why businesses that uses their share as collateral usually ended up in difficulties during downturn... businesses that are prudent and growing have nothing to fear -- similarly long term shareholders also need not worry.

Take a stock which has previously run up to a very high price on huge volume. In a downtrend, there are no interested buyers at high prices. And bidding is done in small volume at low prices. With bad news and fear, people will sell, sell and sell, while few buyers will buy, price goes lower and lower on low volume. The only requirement for prices to go down is few buyers and more sellers. Thus those who are holding huge holdings will see their stock's price fall to a very low level on low volume. What happened to the value of the huge stock holdings since it's not a one-for-one buy/sell. It has simply vanished into thin air!

you should educate them with your wisdom.---right entry price (relative to tp and period) even for fundamental stock....
