This is my analysis on STI for next week.

STI is currently at 2939.

1. STI is in a sideway Trend Channel, with potential low of 2650 and high of 3025.

2. STI falls below MA30 last week. Moving from Bull to Bear Territory.

3. Both MACD and Stochastic lines have crossed and moving down.

4. RSI move falls to 47%, also in Bear Region.

5. SSE, Hang Seng, DOW and S&P 500 are all moving down, these will push STI down as well.

6. Europe markets are moving sideways.

7. Earning Season is coming to a close. After it ends, the market would refocus on Economy Recovery and Europe Debt Crisis. These could bring market sentiment down again.

8. Early next week, STI could move up slightly to cover last week's gap down, but after that it would move down further.

Now is NOT the time to Buy, but to Sell or Go Short.

If you want to Buy, you have to be very selective. I suggest GLD 10US$.

This is my personal analysis. You invest at your own risk.

Just my 2 cents worth comment.

I do not feel that Friday is just a simple short covering...if u look at the VOL of the respective stocks.

Friday will be sort of the "first army of bull" coming in instead just bear dominating the market.

I am shifting from bearish to "less bearish" since i already see the support is there liao.

We can see what happen next week to confirm suitation

Technical Analysis on STI

STI index continue to tumble as fears heighten on the possibility of double dip.

Important points to note

1) In weekly charts, a black candle sticks with long lower shadow proves that selling off has started with high trading volume.

2) The weekly trading volume increases despite 4 days trading session as investor rushes for exit.

3) MACD and RSI indicators are turning bearish as MACD begin to converge together.

4) STI is currently sustained by major technical support at 2930

5) We would see STI 2900 as a very strong support as technical, 20 weeks MA & 50/100 days MA is near that level. In fact, there were already a small re-bound off this level on Friday.

Important resistance of STI: 2950 (Daily charts)

Immediate Support of STI: 2930 (Daily charts)

We will recommend monitoring the major support at 2900 and see if index managed to consolidate around that level in next week.
