I think most likely 1st half 09 market will rally to 10000 and abv sfter Obama takeover...then 2 half volatile..then we will see the new low, come early 2010..then hopefully recession is behind us,then dow to first 20000, then 36000...gold 5000 and oil 300. There u go , the dollar is sinking now, i think market is about to charge, redemption, deleveraging, etc...ending ..time for money to return to stock..weak dollar good for US..good for gold and stock..if it gfoes bel;ow 200 ma...rally over for the dollar.. I pray for a bullish first half 09... |

Looking at the Dow's weekly chart, there is a resistance level at around 9042. If the index crosses that level, it could hit 10,000. If not, it will drop to the 7500 levels again. | ||||

When the news of Auto Bailout fail, STI and regional mkt reacted to the piece of bad news and dive along with DJ futures -350pts before recovering slightly and closed with -300pts. Although the DJ overnight traded higher by +60pts, I see that it rallied +360pts after they announced Treasury will dig out $14B from the $700B for the Auto to prevent the bankruptcy. So I do believe STI will open on Monday with a bang if nothing bad comes out before mkt opens for trading....my view oni! | ||||

It's true that investors who buy only after news released is suicidal. We have to anticipate the next move the mkt will go with a pending issue. Park your investment there and wait for the news. Look at the big picture regarding the Auto bailout. If the government were to let GM fall, their economy will be crippled. They will not let that happen. The "hidden" agenda in rejecting the $14B bailout I think is to squeeze the power out of Paul Hanson who held the $700B. He rejected calls for tapping into this fund for Auto rescue and insisted that the fund is meant for the financial bailout. It's very political one lah! Bollywood or Hollywood, the 3 BIG will get the $$ eventually. | ||||

If the Dow & S&P were to fall, it won't be becos of this clown. Bad news just keep coming-BOA, Auto ind.,falling property prices again and the list goes on. I do expect an 11th hour bailout for the auto industry despite this morning's setback. A lot of political arm twisting but someone has to blink first. It sounds so 'hollywood'.
