Agree. It is all about each individual perception of happiness. If one is feeding a car and condo, I doubt the iBet winnings is going to make them happy. The iBet winnings one time pump petrol not enuff still must top up leh :) |

Heard of some old women who bought i-bet and won some $10 or so. They were all so happy, they bought a few pet bottles of coke to share with their friends. Funny how something so simple in life can give so much happiness. |

Betting in Toto, 4-D & Big Sweep is betting on 'HOPE'. There is no skill required and easy to play and the capital outlay is small and the winning is huge relatively. Therefore it appeals to the population at large and give them some hopes to live on 'tomorrow', at least! It is no harm just to wage a small bet and try your luck! Who knows one day you might just strike it rich. Unlike the Stock Markets where skill and experience + knowledge are required to win or at least to protect your Capitals. Of course sometimes luck too play a part, though. Cheers! |

If you buy your 4D earlier, there's no need to queue.. To avoid queuing Never buy on the draw day itself, but two days earlier. Better still, buy for the week's 3 draws ahead. |

Shares punting requires bigger capital compared to say $1 or 50 cents for 4D and Toto. So ppl with very small budget goes for 4D and Toto. If strike it is using very very small capital to get HUGE winnings!!!! Different games appeal to different ppl :) |

Horse racing, stock market, casino, football and chap-ji-kee have one thing in common, that is, they are controlled by big timers. 4-D and Toto are purely luck. |

Stock trading is also gambling in a more high class format I think. Cuz for some ppl, it involves doing research on the company, read financials etc etc... Similarly horse betting is same, you can do research on the horse past track records, the trainer, the jockey etc etc. Both requires some research before you put your money in. The easiest way is wait for broker call or punter tips to bet. So is horse betting equivalent to stock trading? :) |

Probability of winning a prize is 23 out of 10,000 possibilities, ie combi of 4D numbers. Anyway, when you buy 4D, it's either you win, or you don't. Whereas in stock market, you do your research, make a decision, you will have a better chance in growing your dollar. |

What is 23 out of 10000? To me shares can be an investment whereas 4D is pure gambling |

4D is one way ticket. 23 out of 10,000. If punting share still can hold if it turn against you. just pick up and hold for awhile. |

Ipunter, good luck in ur 4D punting. Need luck in everything we do.Even playing majong. I see myself as taking risk by margin lending to buy up big and conc. on only 3 counters.Your risk profile may not be the same as me,thus we agree to disagree. Now that i am older(not wiser),i take less risk but still margin lend. |

How nice if playing the Stock Markets is similar to 4-D & Toto! In that case, can make a switch and don't have to bother with Market Risks anymore...hahaha! Just buy and wait for the numbers to strike......and keep on waiting................better luck the next time....and if you could wait for long enough.....one day you might be a winner....... that 1-day could be a long long long .........................................................wait! Cheers! |

Actually, in 4D, one can also do FA and TA... The FA part is whether a number is hot or not, or study the background of the number's derivation and origin... The TA part is analyzing the number's historical performance and trends which we can plot graphically. Then when we punt, we also apply similar punting principles as stocks, namely punt big lose big, punt small lose small. |

Geogam... I am not a good trader... where did that idea come from? hehe... I am basically a punter... like I said before... I just punt punt here, punt punt there, here punt there punt, everywhere punt punt. And just like many other investors, I lose often and I win sometimes. And that is precisely the reason why I also need to punt on 4D. Think about it seriously... if I have really good income from shares trading, why on earth would I need to punt on 4D, agree? I might as well play golf or go bowling or just laze around the sun on a mediteranean nudist beach, right? Fairygal... actually, I am more emotionally attached to goddess Tara... hehe... :) |
