SF, i usually hold till i get profit out of it. once i think its about decent and lesser chance of getting more profit, i will sell. some i have holding for many years now. u r long term? |

Price movements depend on Supply & Demand. Buy only when there is more demand than supply......just keep it simple! In fact knowing when to sell is even more vital! Cheers! |

Every often we hear people say that they cannot buy share B because they are stuck with share A. Actually that statement is not quite correct. One must realise that at any instantaneous point in time, the value of your share A, let's say $5k, is the same in share B, C, D etc. Just that in different shares it is in different number of lots. Thus if you sell share A and buy share B, it is merely a transfer of funds. |

livermore,good insight. Also,i think,no need to buy and sell,sell and buy.Too much trading also not good. Just keep things simple. If one keeps trading,one will sure end up losing in the long run.Just my opinion. |

One good share us better than 5 average shares. The problem when you buy too many you lose track of your risk profile. What you make can easily be lost very quickly. | ||

It is not wise to put all your lots on your first buy. When price has stabilised (tricky even under current situation), accumulate some and best at different prices. Wait for that upturn, average up in 2 or 3 steps then don't buy any more. When you are stuck with 8 shares of value $10 000 and your reduce those shares to 4 shares and the value is also of $10000. Really it is the same. You stand at better chance of breaking even faster with the 4 shares if you choose the right ones.. When you are stuck with 8 shares, don't buy the 9th, 10 th etc shares. |

i buy shares when people sell shares... i sell shares when people buy shares cos majority will only have short term gains... only the minority will make it big.. think abt it.. |

haven't seen anyone on it that has make it through stocks. but there was another chinese show abt one guy who make $ through stock picking and the other lady through forex trading. she can make 5 figures every mth and is taking 1 yr off to travel while doing her forex trading online. |

monitor and save up at the same time.. if need be (rare occassions), sell some counters (losers/marginal winners) in the portfolio to load up on the favourite counter(s) | ||
