hyflux is giving 1 bonus share for every 2 currently held. after the bonus issue, there will be 3 shares in place of the previous 2. so theoretically, the market price should drop by 1/3 x $3.30 = $1.10. however, the drop is lower, so existing shareholders are better off: before bonus issue: 2 shares x $3.30 worth $6.60; after bonus issue, 3 shares x $2.34 now = $7.02. so existing shareholders are actually better off now! |

this is 1 for 2 bonus issue. If take before xb average px at 3.34 ,xb price should be around 2.23. Correct me if I'm wrong. | ||||

Hyflux Ltd: Initial Headway into Libya Summary: Hyflux Ltd has finally made its initial headway into Libya with the winning of an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract worth US$100m for a 40k m3 seawater desalination plant at Tobruk in northeastern Libya . We estimate that the latest order win would increase its EPC order book to around S$626m and its overall order book to S$1715m (assuming O&M segment remains at S$1089m). While this contract marks the group’s first foray into Libya and its expanding presence in MENA beyond Algeria, the market is watching out for when Hyflux can secure the two mega desalination projects (worth an estimated S$1.3-1.5b). While talks have progressed onto the technical specification stage, management notes that it could take another six months before they reach an agreement, essentially making it a mid-2011 story. Nevertheless, we continue to believe that Hyflux remains well-placed in Asia and MENA to ride on the still buoyant water industry. Hyflux Ltd has been awarded a contract worth about USD 100 million to carry out engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”) works for a seawater desalination plant at Tobruk in northeastern Libya . The project is the first in the country for Hyflux. The contract was awarded by the General People’s Committee for Utilities of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya (the Ministry of Utilities in Libya), the result of an international bid held earlier in the year. |
