STI to cross 3000 boosted by long-term investors

Agree.  Karma is a strong word to use.

China people willl not want to link " karma" to the chinese milke powder contaminated with melamine which sickened many  CHINA babies resulting in Kidney failures.......... 

This is just one of the food-related tradegy, there are many others like poisinos colouring stuff used on food etc.............

 

Conclusion  :  The karma  comes from  one word  i.e.  'GREED' .

so scary. Japan is going to be isolated in this manner. if it's worsen, No ship going to their ports. Other countries' ports are carefully screening them. For us, we at most don't have iphone chip, Toyota etc. For them, no enough food supply if there is no ship bring them foods.

How do you feel if you are Japanese living there. worrisome.

Funny thing, when I relate this sad disaster  to local chinese and immgrant chinese, quite a few of them relate it to the karma of the 2nd world war.

it's a pity that Japanese are tough cookies unlike German who admitted and apologised, they don't officially and didn't jott it in their history that didn't earn the forgiveness by the suffered countries.

anyway, just hope that the radiative won't be spreading here and there.............

and  I am lucky to see my Pac Andes still stay healthy......have been worrying since the 311.

STI at 3108. Weak Bull.

Not a lot of trading volume and no clear direction.

Today is Friday, so many people don’t want to trade and hold position over the weekend. We should get a clearer signal on Monday.

STI has break out of its steep downtrend channel and crossed back into its gradual downtrend channel it’s currently at the lower part of the channel, so there is a higher percentage of STI moving higher.

As long as there is no major bad news to create a panic, STI should continue its climb to 3200. However, along the way, do expect some correction.

Actually, I’m hoping that STI would have a correction today because that would release of some uptrend resistance and STI would have more energy to move higher next week.

4 me, I'm concerning abt e BBs.
A counter muz hv BBs drawing chart daily.
If BBs r not in a Counter. STI v v green oso no use.

I'm safe cos my Meiban Gp there BBs r still inside drawing e chart.

STI green / red, 4 me really doesn't a matter.
But only Blue Chips' Counters can cos STI v green / red...

You see Dow  will be closing  in on  clearing the last high very soon to in order for the  bull run to be  intact, failing which it will make a double top formation. Already i'm seeing  a couple  big blue chips in the  US  with descending triangles (triple top)  in the making, that  includes the tech giants. I hope my eyes isn't playing  tricks on me &   seeing things right.  Dunno....

Does  s'pore's cd season always create a major run up every year (without fail)? Most corporations' ex dates are due only  at end April & early May.

Be it politics, religion, etc... history has covered a good many " defects" and also a good many folks in high places either instigated/instructed/condoned it. Many many atrocities.. But yes, it does pain us when we remember the cruel cruel crimes of say the Japs/Nazis.

What happen with your water? Roll down the hill meh? Yesterday water gush into fountain! Maybe different brand ah.. hehehhehe..

Ya, I think if China does something wrong, they will make excuses or even for the power, applying big bully. just like the fishing boat captain being caught and released. Worst the whole country gave him a heroic welcome back that made a japanese military guy expose the type.

Sometime I see the way China (or the people)  dealt with or react to some issues is also not  with " great intergrity" too.

So, I think I better sell my fish and water counters away before the contamination gets worst......:), my fish stil survive but my water roll down the hill (hopefully, it's temporary.........hai sigh!)

However, I kind of heard from the media, certain radioactive last for 8 days only. Amitapha

Regional  Asia Stocks--Most climb at end of soft quarter 

March 31 (Reuters) - Growing appetite for risk and optimism over earnings lifted most Southeast Asian stk mkts on Thurs, the region ended the quarter mostly in the red due to a soft start to the year.

Most share mkts capped the quarter near multi-wk highs, helped by capital inflows. Turnover in M'sia< .KLSE> , Thai< .SETI> stk mkt and this region share a similar positive economic outlook and Indonesia< .JKSE> each was well above the 30-day average, their uptrend is likely to continue, at least in the medium term

Indonesia's posted $460 million  outflows and Thailand's $20 million in the quarter.

Asian stocks advanced on Thurs, heading for a quarterly gain despite a sharp sell-off earlier this mth after disaster struck Japan, while the yen was poised for a quarterly loss on expectations Tokyo will have to maintain super-loose monetary policy far longer than EU and the U.S.

Among bright spots, OCBC rose 1.3% to 6-wk highs, SingTel rose 1.0% to $3.02, while  HPH Trust  in US$  rose  0.005 cent, on heavy volume of 459,055,000 million of share changed hands, and  Serial System jumped as much as 10% on expectations may receive more orders, on  disruptions of some of its competitors in the aftermath of the Japan earthquake. Serial system closed at 0.155c +0.005c or 3.3%

Thing to note--Reuters

* Mideast unrest, soft dollar, euro zone nerves lift prices* Prices head for quarterly gain, but smallest since Q3 2008* Markets fret over U.S. monetary policy ahead of jobs data.

SE Asia Stocks-Earnings optimism lifts stocks financials lead

* Regional bourses scale multi-week highs
* Thai bourse see biggest inflows in three years

March 30 -  Regional Asian stock mkts rose in active sessions on Wed as investors picked up shares in companies expected to report good quarterly results, with banks leading the way on strong loan growth.

Investors appeared more confident  on  outlook, on corporate earnings in  d  2nd Q, outweighing lingering concerns of risks from the unrest in the Middle East and the effects an earthquake and nuclear crisis in Japan.

Growing appetite towards the end of the  1st Q  comes ahead of a raft of corporate dividend payments and releases of  1st Q  results, which are poised to lure more buying interests in the coming quarter.

" There's a chance that regional indexes could trade at new peaks in the next quarter. The  1st Q  results of Asian firms...is a positive story," said Viwat Techapoonphol, a Bangkok-based strategist at broker Tisco Securities.

Regional bourses climbed to fresh multi-week highs on Wed, in part due to hopes for a positive spillover from Japanese spending on reconstruction.

Asian stocks rallied on Wed as investors snapped up riskier assets on attractive valuations, while Japanese exporters were helped by the yen's weakness on expectation of interest rate rises in EU and the U.S.

Thing to note--Investors in the region were also watchful for inflation data for April, due on Friday, a further indication of the region's tightening policy. Inflation is expected to gather momentum for the remainder of
this year on potential state cuts in subsidies just as uncertainty in the Middle East raises risks of higher oil prices,
