He should have the money to hold short or long position for a long time. If you have this kind of holding power, you'll not be afraid of market going against you because ultimately, the market will move in your favor. If you hold long enough, eventually you'll make money. Unfortunately, not many of us has this kind of holding power. We either cannot hold losses for a long time or bare the pressure of seeing our losses multiple before getting better. But we can't really criticized his trading strategy, as long as it works for him, it's good for him.
