Silver tumbled as much as 13 percent. Futures on the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index rose 0.7 percent as of 12:09 p.m. in Tokyo, indicating U.S. shares may extend a four-day rally when markets open later today. The MSCI Asia Pacific added 0.3 percent, set for the highest close since Jan. 19. The yen fell against 15 of its 16 most actively traded peers. Crude tumbled 1.4 percent in New York. Silver plunged after CME Group Inc., the Comex parent, increased the minimum amount of cash that traders must deposit for speculative positions. U.S. President Barack Obama will announce this evening that bin Laden, who helped found the al-Qaeda terrorist network, has been killed, an administration official said. Asian stocks earlier gained after billionaire Warren Buffett said his Berkshire Hathaway Inc. would be “delighted” to invest in Japan and elsewhere in the region, as data showed South Korean exports climbed to a record in April and Australian Treasurer Wayne Swan said next week’s budget will forecast the creation of 500,000 new jobs within two years. “Markets read this as a decrease in risk,” Gavin Parry , managing director of Parry International Trading Ltd. in Hong Kong, said in reference to reports on bin Laden’s death. STI's behaviour now looked alike during e  yr of  1993. Almost e same... Indeed STI might hit 2,900pts, or worst 2,600pts. When??? Actually's a qns mark too. But Mid & Small Caps' Counters not yet move. Even if STI happen 2 hit 2,600pts. Sm  Mid & Small Caps' Counters wun drop much. Cos they din climb much. STI's behaviour's now totally not alike during e yr of 2008. Totally diff... ('',) My view only, STI up / dwn's expected. Makesure ur holding Counters BBs r still inside drawing a daily chart.

Best Rgds lowchia      ( Date: 30-Apr-2011 22:31) Posted: Technical Analysis on STI STI index remain supported at the 3180 as investors are still bullish on the earnings report ahead. 1)  In weekly charts, a black candle stick with lower shadow affirms that investors remain concerns on the trend ahead and choose to take profit off the table. 2)  The weekly trading volume rise slightly though the trading volume remains relatively low. 3)  MACD and RSI indicators are flat as RSI trend sideways. 4) STI is currently supported by the minor support at 3180. 5) The resistance at 3214 is expected to be very critical and investors are likely to take profit at that level due to uncertainty ahead. Checkout my blog: ckhpaul.blogspot.com. - History shows that 2006 - May GE - PAP won 85/87 with less votes - STI drops 15% in 1 month. - History shows that 2001 - Nov GE - PAP won 85/87 with strong mandate - STI went up 30% in 3 months. - If history repeat itself - Scenario 1 - PAP won 87/87 -> STI might break 3200 and all the ways up. - Scenerio 2 - PAP won 85/87 -> with much lesser votes - as now they are being contested strongly. STI drop 15% base on past record. - Scenerio 3 - PAP lost 1 or more GRC + a few SMC, - STI might drop more than 15%. - Looking at the Singaporean sentiments and Opposition stirring the common issues which PAP has neglected. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Same thing.   PAP thought it could win everything like before, that was why it wants the general election to be staged earlier than before Feb 2012. However, I personally think PAP will lose some more seats. The odds against PAP is different from the odds against the PAP 4/5 years ago. They will still hang on the government, no doubt, but this time they might not be able to make pocket hurting policies easily.   Bound to be hot debates before any passage of bills/laws.
