Steel processor FerroChina (FERR.SI: Quote, Profile , Research) rose as much as 3.6 percent to S$1.43 after CIMB-GK initiated coverage of the stock with an "outperform" rating and a target price of S$2.29. FerroChina is building up "a ferocious appetite before the feast" with its aggressive expansion plans in China, CIMB-GK analyst Glenford Tan said in a note to investors. "FerroChina will have a combined capacity of about 2.4 million tonnes by (the) financial year 2008, making it the largest non-integrated galvanised steel processor in Asia," said Tan. |

Do you expect the company to improve on its earnings in 2007 compared to 2006? What are risks to your company's continued profitability? As presented in our 3QFY06 powerpoint slides, we are looking at changing the product mix and focus more on galvanized steel, which has a higher profit margin as compared to anticepticised steel. The management adopted a risk diversification policy and have successfully diversified our dependence on China market by exporting 40% of our products as of 30 September 2006. In addition, we have also extended our sales to the agricultural and infrastructure industries, rather than merely relying on the construction sector. With these efforts in place, the management is confident that the company will be able to achieve a more sustainable profitability going forward. Rgds,

but seeing its price jump in this year only ..already almost 50%.. very aggressive :) is this uptrend really based on its excellent performance-as CIMB reported- or investor speculation? will a correction be coming soon? thanx |

No worries. Its fall today probably due to market factor today. Its still uptrending I think, but I detect some weaknesses - Chaikin on downtrend. Be cautious. |

If you read a small section today's papers, the impact is actually quite significant. "....as a result Beijing's clampdown on over-investment in the cement, coke, steel and other industries experiencing overcapacity as well as the tight monetary policy." It means there will be less "players". Once this company consolidates its position, the growth is tremendous.......... |

I don't have specific prices that I enter and exit at. But I do have rules that determine entry and exit. These rules are based upon what I read about the trend at a point in time. |

I think what ed88ks means is that even if you are a trend spotter and follower, you need to determine precise and specific entry and exit points. I am sure every trader does that rather than vaguely just "follow the trend" and leave "when the trend weakens. |

Hi ed88ks, Not sure I understand what you mean by your questions..... sorry. Maybe you could clarify? By following the trend it means that I buy in when I detect an uptrend. When I sense weakness in the trend, I'll sell the stock. So I'm not too concerned over price targets. |
