shplayer, Btw, what price will you think this will go up to? I thinking of offloading my holdings in this counter to enter some counters that I had been collecting for the past few weeks. My take is around $4.00, what is yours? Thanks for sharing. |

shplayer, But I don't think my friend had been taxed at all. Can advise why? Are there a lots of options available? All I knew is that my friend paid the full "booked" price + $1, why is she nt taxed? |

rogue_trader, Thank you...yes, I am well aware how stock options work. Any exercise of options by directors and senior managers will have to be reported to SGX. Profits derived from exercise of these options are taxable based on price difference between share price on date of excercise and option price. So, some employees/directors may take profit on some or all exercised options to hedge against their income tax exposure. Furthermore, SGX rules allows a certain maximum % of options available to issued shares...think its not more than 15%. Anyway, exercising options and profit taking by employees, if it causes share prices to dip, is merely a short term phenomena. As long as the medim to long term prospects are good...market forces will eventually assign a proper value to the counter. The new CEO & Pres, Mr Tang, seems to be doing a good job...more focused and decisive....he dosen't have to carry the baggage of his predecessor who had clean up the mess left by his buddy, the ex Chairman, without making the latter look bad. Good that you got in at 90+cts.....good profits .....my entry point was at about $2.00....still...cannot complain. Cheers |

shplayer, Agreed. Business fundamentals are good. But do you know how their share options works? They used $1 to "book" the current market price and only to exercise 1 year later by paying the "booked" price. What I meant by my previous post was that this company very stable with no retrenchment records in the past 5 years when a lot of companies are axing their staffs, but only wage freeze. So their cashflow and projects in pipeline quite impressive. But their options exercising date falls on july and november of each calendar year, so that could be a bit of a selling for fast profits. The last "booked" price is at $2.53, imagine how much one can get just by selling their shares once CDP credited the shares into those people accounts. I had collected some of this counter few years back when it was around $0.95 and because I had a close friend in this company who can tell me a lot of the "internal" operations, I decided to keep this stock. This counter is really worth long term investing. Cheers! |

Extracted from my blog http://kelongstocks.blogspot.com Please visit my blog for financials and full writeup. Fundamental Analysis FY2005 results were boosted by exceptional items of $24.8m due largely to disposals of associates and investments. This amount was removed form the above figures since they are non-recurring in nature. Similarly, an exceptional item of $163.8m was removed from 2004's results. Forecast 2006 results excludes any exceptional items such as gains from divestment of SembLog. Assuming Toll (the company taking over SembLog) obtains more than 90% of acceptances, selling price would be $1.80. Disposal proceeds would amount to $793m (45 cents per SembCorp share) and gain on disposal (also increase in NTA) would be $475m (27 cents per SembCorp share). Assuming about 70% of the gain on disposal (not proceeds) are paid out as special dividends, shareholders can expect about 18 cents in special dividends in addition to 7 cents gross dividends for 2006. .............. continued at my blog |

Extracted from my blog http://kelongstocks.blogspot.com Please visit for full writeup. Fundamental analysis to follow tomorrow morning. Technical Analysis SembCorp has been in an uptrend since late Jul 2004 due largely to its strong earnings and prospects of its utilities and marine division, SembMarine. The high of $3.14 achieved on 11 Oct 2005 was tested on 09 Feb 2006 before finally breaking out on 01 Mar 2006. The formation appears to be a cup and handle like formation. Support: $3.32 (Recent low during early to mid March 2006), $3.14 (resistance turned support during breakout), $3.08 (EMA 50 and uptrend line) Resistances: $3.42/$3.46 (recent high achieved after breakout on 06 and 07 Mar 2006). Indicators: Mixed. RSI hovering just below the overbought zone but trending down. MACD showing possible negative divergence, continuing to head down despite rebound in prices yesterday. Stochastics shows crossover today in a neutral zone (between overbought and oversold region). ....... continued at my blog |
