If you look at the past 5 years, 4 out of 5 times the market dived during the seventh month. Last year was especially bad. This year may be no exception. New push for U.S. debt deal
House speaker calls for progress on plan by Sunday night U.S. time says plan will raise U.S. debt ceiling, averting default $4 trillion " big deal" in spending cuts still possible. Moves come after congressional leaders meet with Obama Saturday I think they have agreed to raise the debt ceiling for now. It shouldnt be a problem for the coming week. Its still euro zone that is the core problem

In last week, STI gain a solid 99 points from the opening of 3084 and close higher at 3183. A white candle stick with short lower shadow affirms that investors are bullish on the market ahead and have no hesitant in buying higher. Key Economics Data report: The investors are anticipating as if it were inevitable that Congress would raise the debt ceiling, The breakdown of negotiations on Friday has jolted that sense of equanimity, wrenching the worst-case scenario from unthinkable to merely unlikely. Some of the options to raise the debt ceiling involve smaller packages of spending cuts, might not be sufficient to satisfy S.& P. or Moody’s and Fitch, two other rating agencies that have expressed concern over the debt negotiations. If nothing changes over the weekend is that the talks have broken down, the market will likely react to this on Monday. Technical Analysis on STI STI index has re-test the critical support at 3070 and rebound back to close slightly higher at 3183. 1) In weekly chart, a white candle stick with lower shadow indicates that the market sentiment is rather bullish at the moment. 2) The weekly trading volume increases as investors are bullish on the earnings report and choose to take up more positions. 3) MACD and RSI indicators are bullish as MACD perform a golden cross. 4) STI is currently supported by the minor support at 3146 5) The resistance at 3180 is expected to be very strong and the slight break above this level on Friday does not serve a good conviction.
