Just my peanut personal views. It is difficult to measure how the world is moving. While Europe and US are facing problems with their national budgets, the companies are reporting good profits. Brazil, South Afriac, Russiam, China and Australia are doing well. 3rd and 4th quaters may see a japan rebuilding effort materialise . Hopefully US and Europe will be taught a lesson to tighten their belts and live within their means. However that will mean reduce export for China. What we are seeing, is an unprecedented intertwined global economy which is so complex that nobody can predict effiiciently how a company will perform in 2012 and beyond. For the adventurous and daredevil, venturing into shipping and banking at this time will give u a nice roller coastal ride . For the conservative, staying with the good old Coca cola, Macdonalds , SMRT, SBS and VICOM will not go wrong. For the prophet. venturing into alternative energy and water filtration/recycling technology may be rewared handsomely or go into obsolete. |

i never long since the day before the US drops 500 points.. tat very day when the US formed a nie hammer and yet STI dropped 10+ points.. i closed all longs.

Yea stock trading and/ or investing can be an addictive and very costly hobby to many, albeit some can be in denial towards such a statement.

have to be careful if plan to keep for 60 years. you never know if you need to use those money invested in the stocks during rainy days. if at that time the value is greatly depreciated and you still need the stock money and have no choice but to sell all. then it will be a very no choice case.
