Get ready for some shorting action this afternoon once Europe markets open. My targets this round would be the shipping sector and the commodity sector. 1. NOL, COSCO, YZJ and STXOSV (the counter that has rally the most in my opinion during the recent rebound). 2. Noble, Straits Asia and Olam.  |

Yes ! We humans share this common weakness... 10 years later still will have this trend.. They will have this mentality that the counter will go up no matter what... When the real crisis comes... I will not regret that i sold it off at a loss because i know i still have some cash to buy it at dirt cheap. If you keep it all the way... You're stuck.... And i've learnt a lesson. Never play contra.. Never !! Got balls or what also dont play..

True... I think they are preparing for the worst.. Like what China is doing.. They control now... People suffer a little... But when the real crash comes China will be the one suffering the least.. Cash is king...

You are right...      Humans naturally hate to lose money...           That is why it is so difficuly for them to cut loss.                         At thesame time, it is also natural for them to fight                                 the market. And this is precisely the reason why the                                         average down. When they are " mm kam guan" about                                                   their losses, they will buy even more, and more.                                                             And more....... until they are no more... ![]()

My view is that the Euro banks are preparing to shore up their cash holdings in preparation for the bug crash coming. They need a lot of money reserves, should the Euro nations start to fail in their interest payments and the probability of defaulting is very real. Like what happens in 2008, a lot of bad debts would be written off. For this time, it will be on a much grander scale beyond everyone's imagination.

Yup... But 2008 Singtel still got at least $2.00 left.. Unlike Keppel Land... $9+ left 90cents.

European  stock futures  fell, indicating the Stoxx Europe 600 Index may decline from a two- week high, as two Federal Reserve officials said the central bank shouldn’t act to protect equity investors. U.S. futures and Asian shares retreated. Banks may be active after the Swedish financial regulator said the nation’s lenders must prepare for a deterioration in the debt crisis that could freeze interbank markets and cut off funding. SABMiller Plc may move as Foster’s Group Ltd. rejected its A$9.5 billion ($10.1 billion) takeover bid as too low. Holcim Ltd. might retreat as the world’s second-biggest cement maker reported profit and sales that missed estimates. Futures on the Euro Stoxx 50 Index expiring in September dropped 1.7 percent to 2,290 at 7:02 a.m. in  London, while FTSE 100 Index futures sank 1.3 percent. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index fell 1.4 percent and Standard & Poor’s 500 Index futures declined 0.9 percent after the benchmark gauge for U.S. equities increased 0.1 percent yesterday. The Stoxx 600 has climbed 6.5 percent from this year’s low on Aug. 10, reducing the decline from this year’s peak on Feb. 17 to 18 percent. I personally think that they are really short of cash. But come to think of it... Credit Suisse is quite a big company with alot of backings. No reasons for them to withdraw their investments in OCBC. OCBC is a gem to me. Rain or shine i will still keep in my pocket. Cash is king ? i dont think so... Short of cash ?? Hard to justify... No Idea.... Venture Corp, City, OCBC, Courage Marine.. All withdraw.. Value up to billions..

In your opinion, why do you think they withdrew their investment? Cash is King now or are they short on cash?  Currency Exchange rate Swiss Franc vs Singapore Dollar. Look at the volatility in August.  http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=CHFSGD=X+Interactive#symbol= range=1y compare= indicator=volume charttype=area crosshair=on ohlcvalues=0 logscale=off source=
