STI to cross 3000 boosted by long-term investors Post Reply Rate topic

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Market valuation taken from gurufocus..     3. Market Valuations  Over the long run, stock market valuation reverts to its mean. A higher current valuation certainly correlates with lower long-term returns in the future. On the other hand, a lower current valuation level correlates with a higher long-term return. The total market valuation is measured by the ratio of total market cap (TMC) to GNP -- the equation representing Warren Buffett's " best single measure" . This ratio since 1970 is shown in the second chart to the right. Gurufocus.com calculates and updates this ratio daily. As of  08/18/2011, this ratio is  83.4%. We can see that, during the past four decades, the TMC/GNP ratio has varied within a very wide range. The lowest point was about 35% in the previous deep recession of 1982, while the highest point was 148% during the tech bubble in 2000. The market went from extremely undervalued in 1982 to extremely overvalued in 2000. Based on these historical valuations, we have divided market valuation into five zones: Ratio = Total Market Cap / GDP Valuation Ratio < 50% Significantly Undervalued 50% < Ratio < 75% Modestly Undervalued 75% < Ratio < 90% Fair Valued 90% < Ratio < 115% Modestly Overvalued Ratio > 115% Significantly Overvalued Where are we today (08/18/2011)? Ratio =  83.4%,  Fairly valued

In this times, i dont had to see any AA, FA, TA or any AAA. I just need to close my eyes and feel, feel the market, feel the player, feel their fear, panic and pain. Ask yourself, how much u can lose? Dont be surprise after 1 years u start to curse and swear, i should stop losing long ago and save all my bullets, now bullet all gone. U had to feel the market, feel its sickness. Sick market make all players sick too! When market start to recover, i will feel it. So U know how to feel? Maybe i will kanna F**K by some. But its ok, i already warn liao as my part. Not losing is already winning, many still dont understand. But i also wish market will recover soon and wish all will ride the next bull without fail. I've the feeling the latter is more true, they are trying to delay the crash until US Election year. But if there is a recession, like right now mkt assume it to be going forward , then current level is overvalue. but as again, like last yr, if no double dip, then at current levet , it is undervalue,   But i still think this is a secular bear mkt rally, so going forward i am still bullish till yrear end, so i am betting a rally coming. so tomolo will be a good opportunity to buy,becos it is friday. But i would be taking profit as i think fit. but next yr will be truthly bad, i think you can sell to every rally to realise your profit or , sell to strength to reduce your losses. for if come next yr, u are gong to new low,,,,,lower than Mar 09...jmo...  don't lose bearing by all these old news,...like one fund manager said ," it is nothing new, but old news lingering " ...he is right at the moment , but not next year. don't panic and confuse, dont let emotion take over, just decide what u think mkt will be and stay with your decision. dont be afraid to take losses, there are always opportunity in the mkt for you to recover, someday down the road. At that time, the governments have many options to work with.  Now, we just barely came out of the recession and we are heading to another. This is really not good at all.
