My experience with fundamental approach tells me otherwise. My biggest success were Creative, Golden Agriculture and SPC. All these were made through personal fundamental research and way before any institution release their FA. My FA approach are based more on key data figures rather than news and thus the accuracy of the data are of key importance. In the case of SPC I have been pretty quick to see trend reversal using fundamentals. However I do see where you are coming from in your last sentence. |

By the way, I am sorry to have to disagree that fundamentals point the way for future price movements. |

hehehe... you are right.. fundamentals are good to know for long-termers. But for me, the longest term I hold is 6 months.... and that is only when I am riding the profits all the way up. And I try to force myself to forcefully ignore all talk about fundamentals. The less fundamentals I know or hear, the better... So I trade very very strictly by the charts alone...

Mani, Having an excellent skill in either TA or FA are important. However it is just as important for one to stick to what one understands. In that sense I believe you have acheived success not just from your strong TA skill but also your ability to follow your strategy. I like fundamentals for its ability to foresee the likely trend way before technicals shows any sign. However it does require a significant amount of research and effort. Where there is lack of information, I think fundamentals do not work very well especially in the short term. Cheers, jkbk |

Hi bunnie,slimsk,chinkiasu,eastonbay and supporters of SPC Personally,SPC satisfies the criteria of a good counter.It has the growth and the dividend. Together,the growth and divvy,in this year to date,should be around 25%??? Cos i remember i bot it ard $5 and now it is ard $6,so growth is 20%. Divvy this year is like 55 cents??? Thus from TA or FA or RA point of view it is still a good counter. So bunnie .....take note.Godpa will not lead u into a "dark alley". |

Thanks chinkiasu for the very warm welcome! Another trip again, so envious. Havent gone anywhere after my Beijing trip, still cant decide where to go this Oct. Not going Eastern Europe anymore cos my friend cant take 2 weeks off, so now thinking of either Hokkaido or NZ.... Hi Geojam2, yes i'm still hanging on to my SPC shares. Would like to get more but dont have time to follow the market during office hours. |

.....Finally Mani just came to say SPC should trend down. After this morning, after seeing the latest news I am now sure his TA analysis is wrong. |

Here is the history....Zaobao made a call saying SPC would go down trend down significantly after XD based on the chart. Shortly SPC price went retrace back to $5. Next was Singaporegal, she came in to comment that SPC may trend down. I think SPC was around 5.50 but I am not sure. However general trend for SPC continued its way up none stop and peak at $7. Finally Mani just came to say SPC should trend down. After this morning, after seeing the latest name I am now sure his TA analysis is wrong. As for me, I only look at fundamentals but with a rather big scope... In all, I only look at fundamentals. My view is that the trend up is pretty strong and any downtrend is likely to be weaker with likely price retrace. However I also of the view that there will be a bigger selldown in DOW probably in Sept to Oct. Thus in a manner Mani is probably not 100% incorrect but probably made the down call too early. |

uncle kiasu, u said juz buy SPC lah. wen it was at 4.00+ i dint buy then now sub $6 i buy coz u and godpa niam niam cham, very odd leh. no, i was curious why jkbk007 made that comment mah. i have been away, so missed reading papers. so thought maybe he can explain. sg-gal wrong? very rare leh ;-) |

oi, bunbun.. just buy SPC leh... it is really a good stock.. good divvys and now the price is really a bargain particularly now as it is below 6.0... it is definately a >7.00 stock even now.... |

I am on holiday right now. While the ladies went shopping this morning, I find myself at the business centre of the hotel doing shopping too. Saw DOW overnight -280 pts, thought it was good time to shop. Got some SPC at $5.85. Should be quite a supported price, I thought. Now looking at DOW, we should be rejoicing tomorrow. Hey guys, I think I am back too! This time not into kopi $$, but gonna LONG. Are we back to business? Better go now before the ladies make noise I am even playing stock while in holiday...hehehe! Will be back 2 days later. Cheers! |

Margin is up again. Reiterate buy into dips. Entry price below 6 is considered good. Forget about the TA. Zaobao was wrong, Singaporegal was wrong, Mani is probably wrong as well. |

sent liao godpa. very tired leh. so can't be bothered to reply in fellowship. reply here in spc, same same lah hor? uncle kiasu, u gg SA tonite ah? wah, last nite me watched a channel u travel show by guo liang. he went to this national park in SA leh. seems nice. i also wanna go! does it cost alot to go to SA? is it safe (heard every min there's a rape case! :p)? now no job, at home shake legs. best time to travel. just this 2 mths alone, i have been away for 5 trips, though all short ones and all very minimal cost involved. so thk may still have some savings to spend on SA. can offer me a job or not? like that, i come back from SA, can have income straight away! hahaha. pai seh SPC-forumeers, use your thread a bit for personal purpose. will be good gal, post in fellowship after this :) |
