 Alert Admin 		European Default Insurance Costs Fall Ahead Of Italian Auction

LONDON (Dow Jones)--European default insurance costs fell in early trading Monday ahead of a key government bond auction in Italy and amid expectations that new leaders in Italy and Greece can bring about reforms needed to restore investor confidence.

At around 0745 GMT, the SovX Western Europe index, which investors can use to buy or sell credit default swaps on a basket of 15 sovereign borrowers, was seven basis points tighter at 325/330 basis points, according to data-provider Markit.

CDS are derivatives that function like a default insurance contract for debt. If a borrower defaults, sellers compensate buyers.

The iTraxx Europe index, made up of 125 high-grade borrowers, 25 of which are banks and insurers, was five basis points tighter at 167/168 basis points, while the Crossover index of 40 mostly sub-investment-grade European corporate borrowers was 23 basis points tighter at 695/699 basis points.

Mario Monti started work to form a new government of national unity for Italy, while Lucas Papademos was appointed prime minister of Greece. The changes followed a chaotic week in Europe, where political uncertainty hit financial markets hard.

While news that German Chancellor Angela Merkel was talking about a fiscal union also bolstered sentiment, analysts remained skeptical, especially in regards to Italy.

" We rule out that the appointment of the new Italian government will be the final solution for the EMU debt crisis," said Annalisa Piazza, strategist at Newedge.

Results from the five-year Italian government bond auction will be closely watched at around 1000 GMT.

Europe is awaiting the GDP data to be released tomorrow .... thus today sentiment will be negative for them .....

clear direction is on tomorrow after GDP, but due to recent economy .... result might not be so good .... see how they adjust to suit the analysists and play along with the market ....

shorting was profitable till now, but it is going to be even more profitable in 2012.

u know i got one counter in hangseng still have yet to cover, short from Aug, it never hit my stop limit, umlike most already had.

i think now time to long for a while., short only when recession hit in 2012

From our research.

1) Italy is making more than its spending (it has surplus). We expect a smooth transition for government will surely regain investors on the Italy Bounds. 

2) Greek debt is sustainable now and the new PM will enforce all its condition set by the OCT 26 meeting.


3) US economy is gaining strength. More jobs are being created and consumer confidence are better than expected in the latest survey. We expect a raise in spending for October and November.

4) ECB has cut interest rate to spur spending in their Europe zone and we expect another CUT coming soon.

5) Festive seasons are almost here. Orders are seem raising as confidence regain in the world largest economy.We like Olam because of its business nature dealing with CNY goodies. We also like GoldenAgri as palm oil order also surge when festive season are close. We also expect the raise in Oil and CPO to peak in 2012 Jan.



We Expect Global Market to go for a strong rebound next week and might test 2920 - 2950 Range.
